Calista emerged as the winner at the final held on Saturday, August 6, 2022, in Manilla, the capital city of the Philippines.

The 16-year-old had entered the grand finale after days of impressive performances which saw her win Miss Talent at the show.

A rap sensation, the Calista dazzled by performing one of her songs.

The Morning Show Host of Lucky TV was adjudged the ‘Rising Star -Media, Female Outstanding Personality in Film and TV Show Host of the Year.

She was recognised for her hard work in just one year of joining the audio-visual media.

The glamorous third edition of the National Communications awards, organised by RADCOM, was held at the Labadi Beach Hotel on December 11, 2021.

The awards event was attended by some celebrities in the media and entertainment industry including the General Manager of Angel Broadcasting Network, Mrs Stacy Amoateng, Host of Standpoint Oheneyere Gifty Anti, and others.

Musician Camedoh put up some electrifying live band performances which got patrons dancing throughout the night.

The female face of Lucky TV has starred in movies and TV series such as A Sting in a Tale, Adams Apples, Hidden Passion, Game of Roses, Living with Trisha, Abene, Any more Women, Our Wives, Stale Mate, and Candle in the Wind among others.

The latest series she featured in was titled ‘Home Sweet Home Next Generation’.

The colourful ceremony took place at the Accra Tourist Information Centre on Saturday, November 13, 2021.

Media Personality, Stacy Amoateng, Esther Addo of Estaron Balloons, Ambassador Nancy and the first-ever Diaspora Ambassador in the world were also honoured on the night.

The event, which was the maiden edition, sought to showcase women-owned enterprises and celebrate women entrepreneurs from conceivable industries, and in the process shine a national light on their hard work and efforts to improve lives in Ghana.

Oheneyere Gifty Anti was honoured for her support for women and especially young ladies who dare to live their dreams. 

The event also saw the young ladies paying glowing tribute to Oheneyere Gifty Anti for being their inspiration and mentor. 

Especially a young lady who cried publicly for having the privilege of receiving her award from the hands of Oheneyere Gifty Anti.

Since its inception, over 5,000 women entrepreneurs have actively participated and benefited from its initiative, generating incomes, creating jobs and for many, translating passion into viable businesses.

Ambassador Nancy Sam and H. E Ambassador Erieka Bennett of the Africa Diaspora Forum were also honoured.

The awards night billed for October 1, 2021, at the Marriott Hotel in Accra would confer honours on Ghanaian women who have impacted the growth of the country in areas such as politics, health, education, sports and showbiz.

Organised by ASKOF Productions, this will be the first time the two will be hosting an event with international recognition together.

Clemento Suarez and Gladys Owiredu are expected to bring a lot of professionalism and skills to bear on the day of the event that will be graced by a large number of showbiz personalities, politicians, business executives among others.

It will witness performances from some selected artistes such as Praye, Ohemaa Woyeje who recently released her hit song titled ‘Jungle Hunt’ featuring Jamaican act, KGenius, and a host of others.

The organisers say music fans, who will attend the event, will have the exclusive opportunity to enjoy performances from the artistes billed for the event.

Reports indicate the man of God was on his way to Dambai in the Oti Region for a church programme when the accident occurred.

Photos from the scene captured a mangled Opel Vectra taxi in the bush.

The driver was reportedly dodging potholes on the stretch when the incident happened.

The prophet was seen in a picture offering help to some of the accident victims.

Speaking on Restoration with Stacy Amoateng, the Lynx Entertainment signee said owing to his “super stubbornness” as a child, his father decided not to spend any money on his upkeep.

“With my other siblings, he was supporting, but when it came to me my dad stopped supporting me when I was in junior high school because I was not the kind he thought would bring something better out in future,” he recounted.

According to him, his curiosity, drive and thirst for something other than academics made him appear as though he had no bright future.

“The whole family was clever. Me, I’m clever but I want to chase something else. I’m too stubborn… My dad lost hope in me when I was very young. I was like 13,” he said on Restoration with Stacy.

Despite overhearing his father tell his mum that he would no longer spend any money on his upkeep, that didn’t change his attitude.

“I was stubborn, and to emphasize, I was raised at Fadama (a suburb of Accra), so my level of stubbornness was high and you need to be a tough mum to be able to handle me.

“You need to be somebody who never gives up to handle me because I was really stubborn. So I don’t blame my dad sometimes, perhaps he just couldn’t handle it anymore,” he said.

Although his father gave up on him, his mother remained committed to him.

He recounted how his mother became well-known in their community because she would go from one game centre to another looking for him, and for that matter, his mother means everything to him.

“My mum means a lot to me. I owe her. Whoever I am today, she had to put me here and I learned a lot from her,” he added.

Founder and Leader of the Prophetic Hill Church, Prophet Nigel Gaisie, has slammed critics of prophets who predict the outcome of the 2020 general election.

Speaking exclusively on Adom FM’s morning show Dwaso Nsem Friday, the controversial prophet, who has predicted that the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) will win this year’s election said one cannot talk about politics without touching on the role of the prophet.

To him, those criticising prophets – including him – for predicting the outcome of the 2020 election, lack knowledge of what the Bible says.

“Anyone who criticises prophets which I am included for predicting the elections don’t know the Bible. In the beginning, we formed the world with the word of God and God’s word is about management and you can’t talk about politics without the role of prophets,” he said.

“God used people in the Bible and so there cannot be the role of rulership or leadership without prophets and so if people say we are engaging in politics, then they don’t know the Bible. God will never do anything without the prophets,” he said.

Prophet Gaisie said he has been consistent in his prophecies and so believes John Mahama will be President of Ghana after the December 7 elections.

“God has revealed to me that Mahama will win the 2020 elections and that Akufo-Addo will only take us into darkness if he wins. I am only a prophet and so it will do us good to believe me because it is the spirit of God working through me. I am not a try and error prophet. I have been consistent and that is how it’s going to be,” he stressed.

Asked if he has taken any money from Mr Mahama to be able to make such a prophecy, Prophet Gaisie denied the assertion saying he has never taken money from the NDC’s presidential candidate.

The ‘Megyefo Ne Yesu’ composer stated that her husband, Prophet Alex Twum, walked straight to her mum and asked of her hand in marriage.

The singer, who said she has been married for 21 years, made this revelation in an interview with popular presenter Stacy Amoateng on the ‘Restoration’ Show.

In his latest tweet, the businessman said he has acquired over 4,000 plots of land at Kasoa – ready to build a new smart city for respective clients dubbed Zallywood (Zylofon Hills).

He, however, made it clear that as a goodwill gesture, he has reserved 500 residential plots for customers who had their funds folded up in his gold-dealing-firm Menzgold.

Nii Lante Vanderpuye said he was baffled by such claims because he had no hand in the attack.

“I wasn’t even in Accra when it happened and that’s what hurts me,” he said on the Super Morning Show.

This comes on the back of allegations that he caused similar attacks on some politicians including Mrs Owusu-Ekuful when the National Democractic Congress (NDC) was in power after he was attacked in his constituency.

In 2012, the MP for Ablekuma West, Mrs Owusu-Ekuful was attacked by some thugs in the Odododiodoo constituency.

She was assaulted at a registration centre by persons alleged to be NDC activists after she had visited the area to encourage traders in the central business district to partake in the 2012 biometric registration exercise.

Abu Jinapor, an aide to then-candidate of the New Patriotic Party, Nana Akufo-Addo was also assaulted in the constituency.

A recent attack on the MP by some thugs, believed to be members of the ruling NPP, however, has been linked to the incident.

Mr Vanderpuye, after the assault, has been accused by a section of the public including members of his constituency of causing violence against other politicians in the past.

Reacting to this, he said he has never had a hand in any of the attacks.

“I was in school with Ursula. We were in Legon together, she was a year ahead of me and was in Sarbah Hall Annex A while I was in Sarbah Hall Annex B. So why will I do that?” he said.

He added that he called her to sympathise with her after the incident, which he wouldn’t have done if indeed he had a hand in the crime.

“I personally called her and said ‘I’m sorry for what has happened to you in my Constituency.’ I’m not aware of that, If I had been around, there’s no way that would’ve happened,” he said.

The former MP’s high praise for the Information Minister is on the back of a statement he (Kojo Oppong-Nkrumah) made concerning the controversial 17,334 infrastructure projects by the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Vice President Dr Bawumia at the Government Results Fair function on August 18 at the Ghana Academy of Arts and Sciences, stated that the Akufo-Addo-led administration had initiated some 17,334 and completed most of them.

The Vice President during the function unveiled a Delivery Tracker website for Ghanaians to ascertain the commencement and or completion of the projects.

But checks by the media revealed that some of the projects said to have been completed by government were non-existent.

Among the projects touted by the government as having been completed were the construction of Rock Estates, a 120-unit housing project designed to serve the needs of the community and the Pwalugu Multipurpose Dam project all in the Upper East Region.

Addressing public assertions that the government had lied about the projects undertaken, the Information Minister stated that government was misled by Chief Executives of the various Metropolitan and Municipal Districts.

“I’m happy that Kojo Oppong-Nkrumah has come out to say they were misled by the MMDCEs and it is better for government to admit it,” he said on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem on Thursday.

Speaking further, he sated that government should not say a projected is completed when it’s just a parcel of land and a sign board on the land – referring to the 120-unit housing project in the Upper East Region.

According to the prophet, he has never met Mrs Amoateng in person neither have they had any personal encounter.

The televangelist disclosed this during interrogations at the police headquarters on Wednesday.

” I don’t know Stacy Amoateng. I have never met her in person or had any personal encounter with her via any means.

“I don’t know what Mzbel is saying. I have never discussed such with her and I don’t know what she is talking about,” he said.

This follows Mzbel’s arrest on Monday, August 24, 2020 after alleging that Prophet Gaisie informed her Mrs Amoateng is HIV positive.

Mzbel also claimed that Prophet Gaisie told her he is the man of God helping the host of restoration TV show in prayers to overcome the deadly disease.

Meanwhile, the television personality is believed to have initiated steps to take the issue to court.

According to reports, the ’16 years’ hitmaker was arrested by the Greater Accra Regional Police Command, after television personality Mrs Stacy Amoateng reported her for defamation of character.

This follows the singer, born Nana Ekua Amoah, allegedly stating that Mrs Amoateng is HIV positive per information she got from popular prophet Nigel Gaisie.

Police Public Relations Officer of the Criminal Investigations Department, DSP Juliana Obeng, speaking to Adom News on Monday, confirmed Mzbel’s arrest.

“Mzbel came to the CID headquarters on her own but she was officially arrested,” she said.

However, speaking to Noella Kharyne Yalley on Hitz News @ 1 on Hitz FM, Mr Abiaduka, rubbished DSP Obeng’s statement.

That’s a total falsehood, she has not been arrested. She was invited by the police and we went there yesterday. Three lawyers went with her to the police station; nobody arrested her so I don’t know what she means by arrest.

Explaining further, he said: They said they were investigating the matter, so they made her write her statement and after that she was granted bail.

When asked whether he intends to apologise or reach out to Mrs Amoateng to settle things amicably, he said, it’s one of the options and we’re looking at it.

DSP Juliana Obeng said the musician has been cautioned on Section 208 of the Criminal Code which is on publication of false news.

But she added that, Mzbel is still in police custody pending investigations.

According to the NBS, the initial restrictions of human and vehicular movement implemented in only a few states, the nationwide curfew, ban on domestic and international travel, closure of schools and markets etc affecting both local and international trade were part of the domestic effort that aided in the decline. 

The negative growth puts an end to a three-year trend of low but positive real growth rates recorded since the last recession in 2016. 

The man, believed to be in his late 20s, was captured climbing a ladder to the very top of the Baptist Senior High School building at Madina, Accra.

According to a witness, the unidentified man had answered the exam questions on a piece of paper and used daredevil stunts to smuggle it to the students in the exam hall.

I saw a guy on the first floor and he was hiding there with a paper in his hands, initially, I didn’t know what he was doing there, so, I got curious because the place is very risky and one can easily fall off, the witness said.

But I later realised he was trying to get the paper to someone in the class while they were writing the WASSCE exam, he told Class FM.

His wife, also a TV presenter, was known mainly for co-hosting TV3’s ‘Music Music’ live music show with Bola Ray but resigned in 2012.

She was off the screen for a while and not much was publicly said about it.

However, some news reports in 2013 said she was diagnosed with appendicitis.

In a recent interview with Kofi Adomah, Okyeame Quophi explained that his wife started complaining of a stomach ache in late 2011.

He said the situation landed them (Stacy and the children) at the Edumfa Prayer Camp, Cape Coast in the Central region because the illness persisted till 2012 even after she had had surgery.

Their stay at the Edumfa Prayer Camp at Cape Coast, he said, lasted for a year.

Narrating what led to their going to Edumfa, Okyeame Quophi said he received a call from gospel musician, Cecilia Marfo to send his wife there as it was revealed to her that she was unwell.

According to him, it was only close relatives who knew about her condition so he was surprised that Cecilia Marfo spoke of it.

“It was a Wednesday evening, I was live on radio which is Rainbow Radio when Cecilia Marfo called me and asked where my wife was. I told her she was at home and she said I have seen that she is unwell and truly, nobody knew about Stacy’s condition. We were managing it because she is a celeb,” he revealed.

Okyeame Quophi said it was at the prayer camp that the cause of his wife’s sickness unfolded and it had to do with her clothes a friend of hers came for.

According to him, this friend came around one morning saying her door got locked and that she had to shower to get ready for a meeting.

“So we opened the door and she took a shower in our house, eventually took her dresses (Stacy’s). She wore one and took an extra one and even took an extra panty (new),” he said.

The friend, a lady, Okyeame Quophi said returned only one of the clothes she took and Stacy’s situation started some months after.

He added that the lady also owed his wife.

The radio presenter revealed that their stay at the prayer camp inspired the Restoration with Stacy show which airs on Joy Prime. 

According to Quophi Okyeame, as he is popularly known in showbiz circles, it was the darkest moment of their lives when the sickness began after the visit of a trusted close family friend.

Narrating the incident in an interview with blogger Kofi TV, he explained this person was someone the family’s doors were always opened to.

“She came to the house around 10:am on that fateful day, took her bath, went to pick my wife’s clothes and panty and carried another along,” he narrated.

He explained the person later returned one of the dresses and the rest is history.

“After a couple of months, the whole thing (sickness) started. She complained of stomach aches and even went for surgery but nothing was detected.

“She took her medications as prescribed but this pain just wouldn’t go away but that experience has caused me to believe that evil and ‘juju’ do exist in this world,” he recounted.

According to her, years after she had lost her biological dad and older brother to civil war in Liberia, she again witnessed armed robbers struggle with her stepdad in Ghana, which left the gang with no option than to shoot him.

Because he is the only man in the house, he wasn’t gonna allow them come into the house. We heard stories about women being raped during that time. I am the only one who saw it. They shot him seven times.

Surprisingly, her stepdad, survived the gunshots in a miraculous manner.

The only thing my mum said was oh God not again. He looked pale and was reassuring us he was not dead. He was taken to the 37 Military Hospital. When that happened he spent six months on his back.

It was a miracle. He had two bullet holes in his back and the bullet missed his heart by inches. After all that had happened, I was determined to do something that would protect my family from any outside influence. I was so angry, she noted.

According to the ‘Na Me Dey There‘ hitmaker, the anger pushed her to unveil the singing prowess in her, which eventually led her on to ‘Stars of the Future’ reality show, where she was crowned winner.

I was 20 years old experiencing all these. That’s how I went for an audition. I was never so passionate… saying if I don’t win this my life is over. I saw the competition as fun.

In an interview on Stacy Amoateng’s Restoration TV show, she said she was ready to adopt a newly-born baby at one point because she was tired and depressed by critics on social media.

She said she decoded conversations differently anytime she heard her peers talk about children.

She told Stacy how people accused her of selling her womb spiritually to attain limelight in the entertainment space – a statement that got her to cry bitterly.

The ace actress, who is also a successful entrepreneur, actress and hostess among others, said people thought her pregnancy news was fake until she was delivered of a baby.

“When I got pregnant, people didn’t believe it. I feel like its natural feeling with every woman. If you get to a stage where you are not getting pregnant, you get worried even if your husband calms you down,” she said.

“It’s not easy in my case where my husband already had two children,” she added.

Looking determined to give birth at all costs, she said she went through a therapy where she bought a dog to keep her company than to converse with friends.

“I had a strong feeling that even if I were at 60, I’d have a baby. I want to confess… I told myself at age 45 even If I don’t give birth, I would let my husband adopt a baby for me. I was willing to go through any process.

“I treated my dog like a child and I knew people were dissing me for that. I told it everything when others were saying I have sold my womb for fame. I really heard a lot,” she noted.

Being a mother, according to her, has ushered her into a different state where she barely cares about anything that troubles her.

“When I pick my baby, I forget all my troubles,” she said, adding that, “I drive more slower now because I have a baby.”

For women wanting to tow her line, she had this advice:

“You should be prayerful if you want a child. If you have a doctor too, take good medications. Don’t visit too many doctors since you only have one womb,” she noted.

She became a high profile subject in the news when information emerged that she had given birth to a beautiful baby girl, Maxin Mawushi Mensah.

Congratulatory messages stemmed from every angle to bless the actress for achieving one of her greatest heart desires.

Talking about the first time she got pregnant after resorting to a fertility clinic, she said:

“I never believe that people are hurting me spiritually. The first time I failed…after all the medications, I had my menses on my first check up but I didn’t give up though I was assured.”

When the doctor confirmed she was pregnant the second time, the actress said, “I thought it was a movie. My expectations were completely different because I had taken many drugs and injections earlier and nothing happened.

“People were telling me to look for a baby and stop looking flashy, but here I am, now I don’t mind what they say,” she added.

According to him, he is disappointed in the Charterhouse Chief Executive Officer(CEO), Mrs Theresa Ayoade, who asked the media to rise above Shatta Wale and himself following their Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) ban.

In a tweet, he said, “may I conclude that Charterhouse does not have the interest of Ghanaian musicians and Ghana music at heart? With all due respect Mrs Theresa, I’m disappointed!”

He added that, “calling on Ghana media to help you quench our careeers is a very low blow,” Stonebwoy registered.

Stonebwoy isn’t the only musician who has reacted. Shatta Wale also descended on the organisers of Ghana Music Awards in a live Facebook video yesterday.

Mrs Ayoade’s statement “let us rise above them” – referring to Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy – did not also sit well with fans of the artistes.

“Can you as the media help the industry rise above these two? Let’s rise above these two and let the industry breathe and move on. Sarkodie won artiste of the decade and nobody even talked about it.

“The industry is bigger than these two artistes and that is what I want you to go back with. There are lots of young people who need the opportunity so let’s move on,” she said at a press conference.

In a statement copied to Adomonline.com, Obour said his decision was borne out of his desire to serve his people and contribute his quota to society.

In a rejoinder, the Association said there is no scientific data and evidence to support the assertion that any form of Intrauterine Device (IUD) causes cervical cancer as claimed by the media personality.

In the statement, signed by its president, Dr Ali Samba, the Society reiterated that the “copper IUD, which is one of two forms of IUD is a safe and effective form of long reversible contraception and couples who desire to use them or are using them can do so without fear or panic.”

Furthermore, they educated the public on the nature of the safety and effectiveness of the long-term reversible contraception.

“The Society also cautions the general public that cervical cancer generally has no symptoms in its early stages. Regular screening with the pap smear, visual inspection with acetic acid and testing for high-risk human papilloma virus is recommended for early detection and prevention.

“However, any woman diagnosed with cervical cancer is advised to comply with medical treatment which includes surgery and chemo-radiation therapy. Good nutrition and prayer, while good for general health and well-being, are not specific treatment modalities for cervical cancer,” it concluded.

They explained the rejoinder is to correct every misinformation being conveyed by a video circulating where the media personality narrated in an interview how she survived the almost fatal cancer as a complication from the contraception.

No wonder even though she had ended her three-year deal with Palm Media, organisers of the concert, she was brought back by popular request from fans of the show. 

Dubbed: “The Loud Concert”, the 2018 Vitamilk Girl Talk witnessed impressive performances from the headline act Efya and some of her friends.

The long of list of acts who took turns to wow patrons included, Kidi, Kuami Eugene, King Promise, Stonebwoy, Adina, Sister Derby, Wanlov the Kubolor, Kwesi Arthur, Joyce Blessing, Sista Afia, Eno and the legendary Amakye Dede.

Kumawood star Akrobeto delivered a hilarious special ‘real news’ on stage while there was also an appearance by petite Kumawood actor Don Little.

Some of the known personalities who attended this year’s concert included Nana Adwoa Awindor, Akumaa Mama Zimbi, Nana Aba Anamoah, Sandra Ankobiah, Moesha Buduong and Stacy Amoateng.

The annual Girl Talk concert started in 2011 with Becca as headline act until 2015 when Efya stepped in as the lead act. 

There will be an after-party dubbed ‘Lipsticks and Sand Party’ for the 2018 Vitamilk Girl Talk on December 24 at the Labadi Beach Hotel.

Information has it that she got married to Kevin Adu, a pastor at the Mantle of Fire Ministries International at Race Course near Lapaz in Accra.

Before their white wedding, there was a traditional wedding ceremony which was attended by family and close friends.

TV host, Stacy Amoateng and few celebrities took to Twitter to congratulate her.
