It was earlier reported that the ongoing case at the FCT High Court in Abuja was unexpectedly delayed on 5 March, as the court session did not proceed, a circumstance Yul and Judy Austin attributed to their actions.

May filed for a divorce against her husband in August 2023, with details of the court proceedings having been kept hush.

May’s legal team, led by Emeka Ugwuonye of Due Process Advocates (DPA), revealed in a post on its Facebook page Tuesday that the proceedings encountered another setback.

Yul and Judy’s lawyer wrote a letter to the court stating that, he was unwell and that he would not be present in court today as a result thereof.

DPA said Yul was present in court on Tuesday but without his counsel, leading to the postponement of the scheduled hearing.

The statement partly read: “Trial could not go ahead today as scheduled because two days ago, He proposed several dates in the future as an alternative and requested the court to pardon him.

“Usually, the court would give the lawyer the benefit of the doubt in such a situation. May’s lawyers would not like to question the integrity of the opponent directly, even though the excuse was a tendentious occurrence.”

According to the DPA, another hearing has been scheduled for June (date undisclosed).

May’s legal team expressed concern about the delays and prolongation of the case, noting their confidence that justice will prevail in due course.

“As you know, several issues are involved: from the activities of the parties in social media to the welfare of the children, to the issues of marital properties, the safety of May, and the final status of the marriage itself.

“As we have done in the past, we urge all well-wishers and supporters to be patient. The legal process is very intricate, and the best approach has to be meticulous and painstaking,” DPA stated.

DPA also said despite the delay concerns, the team is confident in their client’s well-being

They urged the public to resist the temptation of believing information from blogs as they are unaware of the current situation and emphasised commitment to presenting an accurate picture.

“There should be no cause for worries at this point,” they added.

Background

This newspaper reported that Yul, in a court filing, claimed not to be married to Judy despite having two children together.

The Anambra-born actor stated that their relationship was solely about skit-making and maintained that there was no legally recognised union between them.

The 42-year-old actor further denied his traditional marriage to Judy, which he attributed to the Gistlover blog’s promotion of false information for financial benefit.

Yul’s union with Judy has resulted in two children. In November 2021, Judy welcomed a son named Star Munachimso with Yul, and it is reported that the couple has since welcomed another son.

Speaking in his inaugural broadcast since declaring his ministry, Yul Edochie shared details of the incident, which he said occurred as he was driving from Lagos to a film set in Enugu.

He recounted losing control of his car, attempting to avoid an accident, and ultimately somersaulting, resulting in the loss of consciousness.

Before blacking out, Yul Edochie said he saw his life flash before him, stating, “I believe that on that day I died.”

The actor added, “I heard a voice; it said, ‘It’s all over. If you wanted to do anything, you can’t do it anymore,’ and then I blacked out.” Miraculously, he woke up in the mangled car and emerged unharmed with no visible injuries.

In the evening, Yul Edochie said he heard a voice telling him that he was destined to be a minister of God, emphasising that his second life was not a second chance but an opportunity to work for God.

“It said to me that my first life was gone, ‘Your first life was about you, everything you asked God for it’s been given to you, this second life is for you to work for God’,” the actor said.

Despite this message, Yul Edochie said he did not hastily embark on starting a ministry at the time as other priorities took precedence.

He noted that he believed that was not the right time stating “When the right time comes you would know.”

This comes after Yul Edochie, last week, revealed he will be starting his own ministry, in answer to God’s call to do His work.

Taking to his social media pages on Tuesday, the actor unveiled True Salvation Ministry, stating that a church service will be held for an hour every Sunday.

Yul Edochie said that he felt the right time to immerse himself in God’s work had arrived.

“It’s time to answer the call of God Almighty. It’s time to do His work fully. To spread the true message of God. Tune in, and be transformed,” his post read.

Yul Edohcie had teased being a man of God over a year ago in November 2022.

At the time, the actor claimed that he had had this calling for a long time but he never felt the time was right for him to make that decision.

In a video shared on his social media, he stated that “I have a calling to be a preacher of God, to be one of God’s minister (sic), to preach the word of God through words and actions…but I always felt maybe the time hadn’t come, the time wasn’t right but now it’s very strong and I feel the time has come.”

Yul Edochie said that he has been blessed to have a good life and a career that propelled him as one of Nigeria’s and Africa’s best actors.

The actor believes he can use the fame and fortune he accumulated and “the global reach that I have to preach the word of God.”

Mr. Edochie shared this sentiment as he welcomed Ike back to the cinema with Toyin Abraham’s film, ‘Malaika.’

Edochie not only welcomed Ike but also offered words of encouragement, urging him not to let the ongoing issues with his ex-wife negatively affect him.

He assured Ike that he has more supporters than detractors and advised him to pay no attention to the “noise.”

In an Instagram post, Edochie expressed, “Good to have you back in the game big bro. The Legendary Emeka Ike. @emekaikeofficial Odogwu! You’re one of the actors who inspired me to come up. I’m a big fan of your work. We love you bro. Trust me, the people who love you are more than your haters. But the haters always make more noise. Ignore the noise.”

Edochie encouraged Ike to stay resilient. “Don’t let nobody bring you down. Keep your head up, Boss. Life will constantly try to put you down. No gree.”

On the occasion of his father’s 76th birthday, Yul took to Facebook to share heartfelt videos showcasing their interactions.

In the post, he showered his father with effusive praise, hailing him as the Lion of Africa and a living legend. Yul playfully referred to his father as the ‘last attractive 76-year-old still alive’ and extended warm wishes for his continued health and longevity. The DPA Family Law Clinic, which shared an update in the couple’s marital crisis, noted that Judy and Yul are aware of the lawsuit, having received copies of the suit papers by email.

It was also alleged that “both Yul and Judy are avoiding service of the process upon them. The court bailiff has tried so many times to serve them in accordance with the rules of court. But they have evaded service of court process. Despite the braggadocio and the social media stunts, Yul Edochie and Judy are facing serious legal challenges and they seem ill-prepared for them, given the fact that they have been evading service of process.”

May has also filed for an order of court restraining Yul from accessing their former matrimonial home. The businesswoman who cited safety concerns, alleged that the actor has been erratic, irrational, aggressive and increasingly threatening.

She noted that Yul acts like he is “under some influence, the full extent or scope of which we are yet to ascertain”. May who recalled how Yul was stopped from accessing their home last week by security officials who told him that henceforth all issues involving his marriage to her and dealings in that regard are subjudice, stated that she is taken the measure to protect herself and her children.

The actor has now been told to consult his lawyer, when and if he hires one, and be guided by such lawyer.

In a Facebook livestream, she criticised blogs for continuously publishing supposed fake news about their relationship and the public for hurling insults at them.

“I have had enough of all this nonsense going on on social media. Are you people going to tell me how to live my life or make decisions for myself? I’ve had enough of all this rubbish,” Judy Austin stated, visibly exasperated.

She held the general public accountable for readily believing rumours they come across online and using them as a basis to attack her and Yul on social media.

She emphasised that she and Yul are adults with the right to live their lives as they choose.

“Whoever the faceless blogger is, they will make a stupid post spreading lies, unverified information. Is that how gullible people have become, swallowing everything they hear without using common sense anymore?”

Judy Austin made it clear that her silence, thus far, does not mean she has nothing to say.

She threatened to expose the lies propagated by blogs and individuals who have been spreading falsehoods about her and Yul’s life.

Yul Edochie surprised many in April 2022 when he revealed that he had married Judy Austin and fathered a son with her. The news had a significant impact on his relationship with his first wife, May.

Despite a year having passed since they went public with their relationship, the couple has faced continued criticism from the public.

Judy Austin credited God for her radiant appearance, adding that when God is one’s guardian, there is a different glow that comes with it.

Yul Edochie took to Judy’s comment section to praise her for how she’s loved by God, stating; “IJELE ODOGWU! God’s special daughter.”

In a recent post on her Threads handle, the content creator and YouTuber said she’s never felt so directionless and purposeless all her life.

“Can’t wait to resume posting on youtube.. I’ve never felt so directionless & purposeless in my life,” she wrote.

This is coming shortly after news broke out that a court granted Yul Edochie’s first wife, May, full custody of their three children, as well as temporary custody of their mansion in Ajah, Lagos.

The court also reportedly warned the actor not to disturb his first wife, as they remain legally married.

According to the sources, Yul has been caught in a messy fracas with his first wife.

He allegedly did not want May to return to Instagram, as her presence on the app triggers backlashes for him. Despite his efforts to keep her away, May refused, claiming that she does business on her IG page.

The marital saga between May Edochie and her husband Yul Edochie has been a widely discussed subject on various social media platforms for several months and still counting.

In an emotional tribute he posted shortly after the burial, Yul detailed the last moment of his son before he was snatched by the cold hands of death.

He wrote that on the fateful Wednesday his son passed, Kambi was in a cheerful mood all morning in anticipation of an interhouse sport he was to partake in.

Yul added that his son was particularly excited as he flaunted a gold medal he won in swimming with hopes of winning more at the sports game.

“On that Wednesday morning, you came into my room, dressed up for school. You told me your school will be having inter house sports on Friday and I promised you I’ll be there. You were so excited. You told me you won a gold medal in swimming. I congratulated you”.

Yul said they goofed around and joked about his height after which he watched his son take his leave in an unusually cheerful manner.

However, he never returned home as his lifeless body was transported to the hospital after he slumped during the football game.

The grieving father said he is yet to come to terms with his son’s demise, adding that he cannot question God.

Yul said his son made his mark, despite spending just 16 years on earth.

He described Kambi as “calm, cute, brilliant, always cheerful, outstanding footballer, gentle and loving soul. You’re an angel”.

Yul’s first son, Kambilichukwu, whom he welcomed with his estranged wife, May Edochie, passed away on March 30 after he slumped while playing football.

Barely a month on, the private funeral of the 16-year-old has been held amid prayers for strength and comfort.

The removal of these photos happened weeks after Yul’s first son with his first wife May died.

It was a shock on Thursday morning when news of the death of Kambilichukwu broke.

Confirming the sad news to Vanguard, Pete Edochie said his son, Yul, called him on the telephone, Wednesday, informing him that Kambilichukwu fell while playing football with his schoolmates and developed a seizure.

According to him, the deceased was rushed to the Mother and Child Hospital, Lagos, where he died hours later.

Benjamin Hundeyin, the Lagos police spokesperson, in a chat with BBC, confirmed that there is an ongoing investigation to uncover the cause of Kambilichukwu’s death.

Hundeyin said Yul reported the incident at a police station close to him.

“He has just reported the case and we have started our investigation. By tomorrow, it will be entered into the criminal investigation department. We will investigate what led to the boy’s death,” Hundeyin said.

“There’s a need to carry out an autopsy to know what really happened. We can’t say what happened until the autopsy is done but the incident happened at his school.”

Kambilichukwu’s demise comes just about two months after Yul celebrated his 16th birthday.

The prophet identified as Prophet Samuel, the founder of Prophet Samuel King Ministries had predicted the death of Yul’s son in January.

In the resurfaced video, the prophet could be heard urging his church members to pray for the Edochie’s family as he can see death lurking around them.

Though the prophet didn’t mention Yul Edochie’s son, he hinted at a member of the famous family being laid to rest.

“Pray for Nollywood stars and family especially Pete Edochie’s family. The arrow of money is nearby”.

He reiterated, “Pray for the Nollywood stars especially The Pete Edochie family. The arrow of mourning is nearby”.

It was gathered that Yul’s first son was rushed to the hospital after falling unconscious.

Vanguard Nigeria reports a source who spoke on condition of anonymity revealed that Yul has confirmed Kambilichukwu’s death at the time this report was filed.

May’s sister, who was at the scene, said the boy read throughout the night preparing for his exam today.

“After his exam in school, he joined his mates to play football and that’s when he developed a seizure and was rushed to Mother and Child Hospital. All efforts by the doctors to resuscitate him proved abortive,” the report added.

This is coming two months after Yul Edochie and his first wife May celebrated their first son and second child as he turned 16; showering encomiums and blessings on him.

He has praised himself for maintaining his looks and looking evergreen despite the country’s stress and the many trolls he had encountered in recent times.

Yul, however, urged his fans and followers to never give up on the ongoing crisis in the country, rather they should persevere and work hard.

Mr Edochie in April 2022 introduced colleague actress Judy Austin as his second wife and announced they have a son together.

But though it is not immediately clear what has triggered the apology, it comes a few weeks after his father, Pete Edochie reacted to the marriage in an interview with Vanguard Nigeria.

The veteran actor disclosed that he did not feel good about his son’s decision to marry a second wife since he is a Christian.

Yul, however, was not happy about the report shared by popular blogger Linda Ikeji on Instagram as he took to the comment section to question it.

But eight months down the line after the introduction, young Edochie on his Instagram page has indicated he didn’t mean to disrespect his wife.

The legend disclosed he did not feel good about his son putting morality to the side to marry a second wife.

Mr Edochie, who is a staunch Christian, added that there isn’t much to say on his son’s decision, likening Yul to the biblical Solomon.

“I didn’t feel good, but like I said I’m a Christian and I read the Bible. Solomon with 700 wives and 300 concubines, was branded a man of wisdom,” he said.

However, Mr Edochie believes it is his son’s choice and for whatever reason he decided to take a second wife, he wishes him well.

Yul made an announcement of tying the knot with his colleague in April 2022, months after the couple had welcomed a baby boy.

His first wife, May, has since expressed her displeasure at his decision, remarking that her 17 years of toil with Yul has gone down the drain.

She added that she will not be cajoled to accept what does not align with her faith.

The actor says he has for the past years been ignoring this call from God but believes the time has come for him to heed the call.

“I’ve had this calling a long time ago actually, many years ago but I always felt maybe the time hadn’t come, the time wasn’t right but now it’s very strong and I feel the time has come,” he declared.

A few days ago, Mary stormed social media again in reaction to another post by her husband which sent a ‘false reconciliation’ message across.

But things have taken a sharp turn as Yul who earlier seemed ‘apologetic’ has issued some bold statements to the public.

“So I said I was going to speak and narrate my own side of the story so I have decided to speak. For the past two months, issues of me taking a second wife have broken the internet. It is my life. I have the right to wake up in the morning and marry 25, 50 or even 100 women and it is nobody’s business. This is my personal life and people should stay away from it.

You have no right to judge me It is my life. I owe no explanation to anyone,” he stated in a live video that has gone viral on social media.

He said this via his Instagram page on Wednesday after his first wife, May Edochie exposed him for posting an old video of them together.

May has stated unequivocally that, she does not support polygamy.

Yul has been subjected to public ridicule when he broke news of his marriage to Judy Austin and the birth of his son.

In response he wrote: “Silence is good. But it’s certainly not always the best answer. I have gotten to the point where I’ll speak”.

But Mary Edochie in a clap back at her husband has issued a disclaimer.

According to her, her husband shared an old video just to create an erroneous impression on social media.

Mary maintained that, she is against polygamy and thanked concerned individuals for reaching out to her during her “trying period”.

“I sincerely want to appreciate everyone for the tremendous love, prayers and support from all over the world. It has really been overwhelming. You have all been an incredible pillar of strength during this trying period. My phones are buzzing once again due to the OLD video trending online today. My family and faith ABSOLUTELY do NOT practice polygamy, although it works for some people.

“God has blessed me with a beautiful and loving family. I need you all to continue to keep me and my family in your prayers. May God bless you all abundantly for your love, prayers and support,” read her post.

It would be recalled that the actor’s first wife of 18 years, cursed him and his lover after he announced on his Instagram page Judy Austin’s arrival and their newborn child.

Judy Austin Moghalu, also an actress is contemplating telling her side of the story.

Mr. Edochie on Wednesday, April 27, 2022 broke the internet when he posted photos of Ms. Moghalu and her son as the latest additions to his family.

The shocking announcement was greeted with criticism by many including his first wife, May Edochie, who called him out.

Many have also questioned why Judy will destroy a family built for the past 16 years.

But the voluptuous actress said she will tell her side of the story at the right time.

According to him, even though he is grateful for the massive support from the public, there is the need for citizens to focus on addressing the challenges that confront the country.

“I thank you all for your concern towards my family. The love, concern and support you all have shown me and my family this past few days is overwhelming.

Truly appreciated. Thank you. I promise you all that all is well and any issues arising in my family, I will sort out amicably as it is my personal problem.

For now, let’s focus on the general problem that affects us all which is the situation of our country.

We have no other country to call our own therefore we must make it work. WE PIN. WE DIE HERE (Yul Edochie)”, Yul Edochie wrote on Facebook.’

According to Uche Edochie, the family advised him not to go through with his plans, but he ignored them.

“Have you ever tried controlling an adult when it comes to relationships? Good luck with that. Yul is an adult who feels marrying a second woman is the best way to own up to his mistakes and make things right,” he wrote in a lengthy post on Instagram.

Uche Edochie stated that it is unfortunate his first wife, May, has been roped into this. 

She did not agree to a polygamous marriage with Yul Edochie when they tied the knot, he wrote, adding that the current situation is not fair to her.

“So I feel for Mary…My family are not in support. This is not what we do and we are trying our best to console Mary. What else can we do?” he quizzed.

This comes days after Yul Edochie surprised many fans and followers when he revealed on Instagram, that he had married another woman and they share a son.

Reports indicate that Yul Edochie and Judy Austin met on a movie set.

The announcement did not sit well with his first wife, with whom he has been married, for nearly 18 years and shares four children with.

Some fans, who sympathised with May, chastised the actor for having kids with another woman.

Meanwhile, Uche Edochie believes that his brother does not deserve the condemnation he is facing now explaining that if a Muslim had married a new wife, the world would not have made a whiff about it.

He stated that “maybe Yul should become a Muslim and shut this circus down. It is said that life is what happens when we are making other plans.”

Uche also added that people should also not be too quick to judge the actor, especially since women throw themselves at actors all the time it gets “suffocating”.

“If the average person walks in Yul’s shoes for one year, they will get five or more women pregnant. So don’t be quick to judge if you have not lived that life. Most people will do worse,” he added.

Yul Edochie shocked Nigerians when he flaunted his colleague-turned-baby mama, Judith Austin.

Yul Edochie who is married to May Edochie with four kids – 3 boys and a girl – also welcomed a bouncing baby with Judy.

This is the first time the actor will be revealing his son and second wife.

Prior to the announcement, the actor was married to May and they have three children.

Interestingly, May gave hints about hiccups in her marriage in November 2021 after she shared a cryptic message in IG.

The mother of four took to her Instagram page on Tuesday, November 2, 2021, where she shared a post that had the photos of Barack and Michelle Obama in their early years and then when they became the US First family.

“Never forget a woman who helped you to build yourself and stand by you by when you had nothing… if she was with you in hell, be with her in paradise,” the post read.

She captioned the post with the quote ”Not for this generation.”

Judy Moghalu is a Nollywood actress and producer.

Pastor Prince Elisha Osei Kofi, during his online prayer session, stated he saw in the spiritual realm that an attack had been fashioned against Mr Edochie over his political ambitions.

The actor has been making waves in Nigerian after he announced that he will be running for president come 2023, to “fix the nation”.

In response, the pastor said the actor needs to thread cautiously as people are planning to kill him next year before the general election.

“By 2022, the fame and wind of change will blow. Yul, likely he will win, but by 2022, this unrest we are praying against in Nigeria will be intensified and the wind of change will be so dramatic,” he said.

He said the actor would have the hearts of many but might drop dead if he doesn’t sit up and look for spiritual leaders to avert the situation.

In an Instagram post to celebrate his 39th birthday, the former state governor contender wrote that he wants to bring “real” peace, unity and progress to his country.

He explained that it was time the youth were given the chance to fix Nigeria.

Mr Edochie asked God for his help to achieve his goal.

The movie star turned politician revealed this while replying comments from fans after he shared a photo of his kids and himself. Yul had taken to his Instagram page Thursday, September 5, 2019, where he posted a photo of his kids and a fan posted a flattery comment on the photo.

“You’re blessed.! Married at the age of 22… Nnam I dey plan make I do wetn u do oo… But my account balance is telling me to wait for 27 years o… I won’t lie. Much love from me sir. #Ya_gazie!” the fan wrote.

“@innocentdanny09 You try. I didn’t even have account balance at all when I started. Once you have a woman who is ready, then have a vision. And believe in God,” he replied.

Yul’s response has since gotten a lot of people talking about the different angles of settling down which requires finance or just finding the right woman to go down that road with.
