According to Majid, despite common biblical teachings, Jesus Christ never healed the sick or raised the dead.

“Do you know Jesus never healed the sick nor raised the dead? Jesus never let the blind see” the actor turned pastor claimed.

Explaining his perspective to a cheering congregation, Michel said Jesus always gave credit to God.

“Do you know what Jesus said? ‘I do nothing by myself. As I see the Father do, I do. In other words, I am Jesus, I have a will, but I will not use my will; only the will of my Father I came to do”.

He further referenced the biblical account of Satan tempting Jesus.

“If the devil had gotten Jesus to turn that stone to bread without asking his Father’s permission, he would have gotten him to sin, and that is what you call sin—separation from God, independence from God” Majid stated.

Concluding his message in a video posted on his Instagram page, Michel said, “When you throw your own plans and make your own decisions without consulting the Father, you have sinned.”

Recalling his experience during the premiere of the movie ‘Act Like A Man, Think Like A Woman,’ where he had the privilege of being in the same space as a star-studded cast, Majid expressed gratitude for the opportunity.

He mentioned being invited by Sony Studios to the premiere in Los Angeles and being surrounded by esteemed actors such as Kevin Hart, Cedric Ward, Regina Hall, Michael Ealy, Taraji P. Henson, Meagan Good, Gabrielle Union, and Terrence J.

However, Majid shockingly revealed that something profound occurred within him during this extraordinary experience.

He shared, “I was there with them. Sony Studios invited me, and I was there with them in L.A. We did the movie and we did the after party, everything, everything.”

He then went on to explain, “I was in L.A. with them, and it’s like the spirit just left me. The passion just left me, and it is was about this supernatural and God.”

According to him, he was not ware the American film maker was part of the team the US Vice President, Kamala Harris brought to Ghana.

“I wasn’t aware he [Spike Lee] was coming to Ghana. I heard he came with the VP of America but I don’t believe it because I saw him at Kotoka International Airport walking out like a regular person” Majid said.

Spike Lee sparked controversy when he claimed he does not know Ghana had a film industry.

The American director who was very expectant to work in Ghana said no one approached him for a project.

In a rebuttal, the Ghana Film Authority debunked his claim noting that, when it asked to see Spike Lee, they were told he was busy.

But speaking in an interview on Asempa FM’s weekend show, Asempa Showbiz Review, Majid said Spike Lee did not want to meet industry players.

If he did, he said Mr. Lee would have been part of the movie forum they had with husband of the US Vice President, Douglas Craig Emhoff.

Majid Michel said there would have been a collaboration if Spiky Lee had reached out to them.

The actor surprised his fans with a fascinating act they never knew existed.

During an interview on Hitz FM, he withdrew his phone to perform a stunt live on air.

“I don’t want to scare you guys,” he said while opening the calculator application on his mobile phone.

He told the host and panel on Daybreak Hitz, on February 20 to select who would step forward for the trick.

He asked all those present to give him random numbers, which they gave without any persuasion

The sum of all the numbers was 103.9, the radio frequency of Hitz FM.

The trick stunned the host, Andy Dosty and all present in the studio who gave him a resounding clap.

Speaking in an interview with Andy Dosty on Daybreak Hitz, Majid revealed that he had friends who divorced because one could not stand the other being involved in intimate roles in movies.

“I have had friends who divorced because of film. The man wanted to enter the industry and his wife was not in support of it. He eventually did and then she left.

“She could not stand the intimate roles actors play,” he said on Hitz FM.

Majid stressed that he is fortunate to have a partner who understands film and knows the ins and outs of it.

“I am lucky to have a partner who grew up in the film. She understands film and knows how it’s done. She knows everything there is to it. She doesn’t have a problem at all.

“She reads the scripts before they come out and knows whom you are going to act the role with.”

Majid added that it is always better to choose a partner who understands the job and would not give you problems when you decide to start a career in film.

“Choosing a partner is very important. It makes or breaks you. The partners are very important. Especially the man.”

Majid Michel is a Ghanaian actor, model, television personality, evangelist, and humanitarian.

He received nominations for Best Actor in a Leading Role at the Africa Movie Academy Awards in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2014, and 2017.

He eventually won the award in 2012 after three previous consecutive nominations.

She told George Quaye on Showbiz A-Z on Joy FM, Saturday, that it was only Majid Michel who stood by her in those trying times.

According to Yvonne, after she was banned, she hatched the idea of producing her own movies. But some of the actors who did not support her in the FIPAG ban said it was a bad idea, because she may not get cast in movies by other producers.

“I just wanted to do something on my own and I remember I spoke with a couple of my colleagues (my close friends at the time) and they all said ‘no it’s a bad idea Yvonne. Because when you become a producer no producer will call you to be in their movies so don’t do it’,” she said.

“And during the ban, they all did not support me. It was just Majid. Majid was the one who would follow me, we would go here, go and beg small. So it was just Majid at the time and we were not even that close,” Yvonne added.

The actress and film producer was banned by the Film Producers Association of Ghana (FIPAG) in 2010 for a year.

She was banned for reportedly showing disrespect on several occasions to her fellow actors, producers and crew members.

The award-winning actress is premiering her new movie titled ‘Kotoka’ at the Silverbird Cinema in Accra on February 14, 2023.

The movie stars Yvonne Nelson, Majid Michel, Franklin Adjetey, Kweku Elliot, Darlyn Adu-Gyamfi, and Christy Ukaka.

According to him, people listen to him with rapt attention whenever he preaches the word of God.

“People receive the gospel warm-heartedly and are very attentive,” he said.

Speaking to Adom News on Adom TV, he said he serves as a role model to many, especially the youth.

“I am the model to most of the youth and the young ones growing up because they look up to me,” he noted.

“So when I put them together and tell them certain things, they receive them in good faith,” he added.

Adding to this, he indicated that “usually when you look up to somebody who is successful and is in the area of your gifting, you listen to them because your instinct is to be successful”.

Mr Michel has starred in numerous movies both locally and internationally.

According to him, he was the last born among 10 children who all grew up in one big house.
But at a point, seven of his siblings left Ghana, leaving three including himself.

“I grew up in Tesano and attended St Theresa’s School then to Mfantsipim. I was born to a Ghanaian mother and a Lebanese father who also spent most of his time in Ghana. My dad is a white man but was born in 1930 at Dichemso in Kumasi and he actually speaks much better Twi than I do,” he recounted.

He disclosed this on Adom TV’s M’ashyase3 with Afia Amankwa Tamakloe as he takes fans and followers down memory lane on how his acting career started.

“I believe I knew I wanted to go into filmmaking while growing up because my dad used to take us to the cinemas a lot and that was how I developed the love for film but needed to master the craft and stand out,” he said.

Fast forward, he gained training through two film schools and despite his confidence and energy level, he was denied roles at several auditions.

That, however, did not cause him to give up on his dreams but forged on until his first appearance in Things we do for love series.

He has subsequently starred in numerous movies both in Nigeria and Ghana, stating he has over 80 films.

After eight years of losing his mother, actor Majid Michel has opened up about how the incident shaped his life as a Christian.

The actor said his mother’s passing was one of the difficult times in his life given the close relationship they had.

The popular actor revealed that, he decided to take the things of God serious to fulfill his mother’s wish.

“My mother introduced me to pastors and wanted me to be grounded in the faith and so I took it upon myself to honour her through that,” he told Afia Amankwa Tamakloe on M’ashyase3 show.

Despite the grief, Mr Michel said it helped him embark on a soul searching to understand Christianity and God’s existence better.

“In 2014, I decided to look for God and after eight years, I know that there is God” he stated.

Following this spiritual awakening, Majid says he has come to the realisation that, the ultimate thing for every human being on earth is to find God and develop a relationship with him.

Paulina Olympio, mother of the renowned actor passed in October 2014 at the Ghana Canada Hospital at East Legon, Accra.

She was 63.

In an interview on Adom TV’s Ahosepe Xtra show, the “Fifty-Fifty” actor said politicians, especially incumbent governments don’t have to convince the electorates to vote for them during elections.

He explained that, the decision by the electorates to maintain or change a government will be based on work done.

“You don’t need to convince me to vote for you if you are doing something that inspires me. I will do that automatically. But it is most unfortunate… politicians are not leaders, very few of them are,” the actor told show host, Black I.

Majid Michel underscored the need for politician to have integrity if they want to be retained in power.

Actors Majid Michel, Anthony Woode, and John Dumelo are A-list actors starring in the movie which is set to be premiered on May 21, 2022 at the Silverbird Cinemas in Accra.

According to him, he has not yet been ordained a pastor as it is being speculated in the media.

The actor had been seen in several viral videos praying and preaching the word of God in churches.

Many on social media assumed Majid has now decided to ditch the movies to be a pastor.

But on Ahosepe Xtra on Adom TV, Majid Michel said all the ministration in churches for the past eight years was just to test God.

“So all the while you see me in church praying for people, in the news that I was a pastor, I was experimenting. I was contending with the faith to see that indeed I was surrendering my spirit to God. But God has proven to me beyond any reasonable doubt” he explained.

Majid Michel who was an atheist said he wanted to encounter God personnel to finally surrender to him.

“I already knew there was God but the Jesus part was the problem but I have finally settled in my spirit” he added.

According to him, he jumped a red light during a car racing game with his friends at Kwame Nkrumah Circle.

Majid said their cruise was interrupted the police officer.

Sharing his story on Adom TVs Ahosepe Xtra, the actor said the police officer gave them a hot chase before overtaking them with a screech.

He said the angry police officer ignore all their pleas and their celebrity status and processed them for court.

Majid said they pleaded guilty to the offense and were fined GH¢600 by the Cocoa Affairs Court in Accra.

His second arrest was in April 2022 when the Narcotics Control Board (NACOB) reported him to the police over his comments on hard drugs.

As a former atheist, the actor said he decided to build a relationship with God and his life has never been the same.

Majid Michel in an interview encouraged atheists to seek the face of God and build a relationship with him.

“If you are an atheist and you are out there, find God and have a relationship with Him” he added.

Majid Michel actor said the easiest way to build a relationship with God is by seeing Him as a lover.

The video which was taken at the peak of their careers saw them goofing around in a bedroom.

Years after, the two have recreated the video in a hilarious way. The two are seen rocking similar clothes and sunglasses and enacted the same moves.

According to him, it is an inner voice he hears inside his head.

Majid Michel revealed that he has always known God since he became aware of things and at the age of seven, God informed him of an accident that happened before his eyes.

Interacting with the host of The Reason is Jesus on Joy FM, Fifi Folson, he said: “I’ve always known God all my life. There was no turning point. Since I remember being aware in life, I have known God.

“I’m sitting in a taxi with some of the people in my house on the North Kaneshie road and I’m seven years old. God tells me your taxi is going to hit the guy in front of you. And baam! Right there. I was seven, really young and I remember it clearly.

“How did I know the car was going to hit the guy in front of us? God told me. Have you seen the movie Venom? Venom is this monster that talks to Tom Hardy. How venom talks to the guy is how you hear it. It is inside you. Some people hear it audibly like this. I can hear it audibly.”

He narrated a recent directive from God that required him to assist a woman financially to further explain his interaction with God.

“Two days ago, God told me give this woman GH500 and I went back and forth with him a little bit. I said ‘are you the one telling me to give her GH500’? He said yes and I had the desire to give the woman GH500.”

According to Majid, he still had doubts and asked “how do I know it is you?”

But God said “give Andrew GH¢500. I said I don’t want to. He said give Christy GH¢500. I said I don’t want to. He said why do you feel the desire to give this woman GH¢500, I am the one telling you to give it to her, she needs it. I gave her the money.”

The actor stated that he was aware the directive was from God following a response from the woman he had assisted.

“How do I know it is God? The next day, she comes thanking me telling me I gave her the money right on time. She needed it right at the time I gave it to her.

“It is not like I give her money or she is used to me giving her money. Her response will let you know where the information came from.”

For him, it is imperative to hear the voice of God in order for one to order his or her steps as some instructions from God may appear to veer from some teachings in the Bible.

“You hear most people say the Bible said. It is a great thing to say the Bible said but you must be bold enough to say God told me – the Bible is a written word and we have the voice of God that can tell you things that might even look like it is a bit contradictory to some of the scriptures you read. That is why you need deep understanding about what is written to know what you are applying.

“Jesus said go into the world and preach the Gospel. The Holy Spirit tells Paul, it (the Bible) said the Holy Spirit forbade Paul from going to Asia but I thought you said we should go to the world and preach the Gospel. So why are you telling me not to go to Asia? Because Paul is in tune and Paul can hear. That is what defines it, that is what you call the relationship,” he added.

In an interview on Joy FM’s The Reason is Jesus on Sunday, he explained that he hates waking up early to get ready for church service.

“I have never liked going to church. I am not a churchgoer because I hate waking up in the morning. Since I was young, my siblings teased me about it. [When] I was in church, I am like ‘mum I want to eat bread and egg’. It [the service] is too early and I never ever in my entire life enjoyed church, and I still don’t,” he told the host, Fifi Folson.

Majid added that there were times he did not understand the sermons and the teachings being taught at the church.

“My problem was, I never understood, what they were teaching, and this was what created the hunger as I grew up. I knew God, but I didn’t understand the sermons and the teachings I was hearing.”

Majid explained that it was not until his encounter with a pastor at the Action Chapel in Dansoman that he began to understand many teachings.

That was when he was able to even have a covenant with God among many other things. “The pastor was an anchor in my life at the moment,” Majid said.

The actor said that his interest currently lies in acquiring knowledge about the things of God and not acting.

According to him, although one of his goals was to feature in Hollywood movies and be on set with Arnold Schwarzenegger and jump from helicopters, that has changed.

He told host, Fifi Folson, his interest in acting can be regenerated if need be, but currently, he is focused on the things of God and how to acquire the knowledge he needs.

“I can regenerate the interest if I want to but the interest for Hollywood, and doing all these movies I wanted to do with Arnold Schwarzenegger – jumping from the helicopters, the thrill has just left. It moved to knowledge in the things of God. It was a hunger for knowledge.”

He said even though he knew God, there were times he did not understand the sermons and the teachings he heard from the pastors.

Majid added that he consumed narcotics until he chose to alter that life and accept being a staunch Christian.

“I used to go out to drink, go and booze, we go and smoke, get into fights on the streets. So I did some drugs; we tried something to see how it goes,” he disclosed.

Speaking on ‘The Reason is Jesus’ with Fiifi Forson on Joy FM, the actor-turned-evangelist advised young people to be conscious of persons they choose as friends as they wield power to mould their lives.

According to him, his circle of friends nearly wrecked him due to drug and alcohol addiction.

“Friends are critical. If you are a young guy, be careful in choosing them because your friends are very critical in your life.”

He added that his interest currently lies in acquiring knowledge about the things of God and not acting.

He, however, reckoned that the acting interest can be regenerated if need be, but currently, he is focused on the things of God and how to acquire the knowledge he needs.

“After the movie ‘Somewhere in Africa’, I was introduced to the cast of ‘Think like a man’, Steve Harvey’s book in Los Angeles, because the movie was premiered in Los Angeles and the President of the Pam African Film Festival, was there. So when Sony Pictures was premiering the movie with Kevin Hart and Megan Good, I was there.

“Through that film, I got to meet all these people. I didn’t even take a picture with Kevin Hart. He wasn’t famous as at the time. Now I regret it. But I had a picture with Megan Good and the husband she recently split up with. I thought that was her bodyguard at the time.”

“To me, it was where I wanted to be, and after that, an interest in me just left. The interest just left me like that. It doesn’t mean it won’t come back. I was probably drawn back into the wilderness a little bit to recharge on something and come back,” Majid recounted.

He says his experience in Christian Ministry has been something entirely new to him, and he’s always discovering something new about God.

Mr Noah turned 51 on Sunday, December 19 and Mr Michel, while disclosing the impact the former has had in his life, stated that he helped him discover his talent.

“You are the reason many discovered their talents and I’m one of them. It’s such a blessing to know you in real life. You have the biggest heart in the world! Thank you for keeping me in it. You don’t get older, you get better,” he penned.

He prepared a special prayer for him which included long life full of prosperity and his heart desires.

The two are known to have a casual relationship ever since starring alongside each other in the 2017 chartbuster; 30 Days in Atlanta.

For many years, the two lover boys were at the top of Nollywood actors’ charts and filmed with high-rated actresses.

According to him, it is the lack of creativity that has negatively affected the industry as a whole and led to a reduction in resources.

In an interview with Joy Prime’s Ibrahim Ben Bako, he explained that it is not advisable for actors to ask government for money to support their work.

“We never did that. Before we grew our industry in Ghana, no government official gave us money we had businessmen who were ready to risk and make good stories,” he said.

Explaining why people claim the movie industry is dead, he said that it is because there are not many productions like there used to be.

He said the industry would revive if players work and produce creative stories for their audience.

The award-winning actor added that the industry also suffered a loss because the film industry turning into digital services.

He believes that if production houses learn the nitty-gritty of digital sales among others the industry can survive without government.

She recalled when Majid Michel stood by her about a decade ago when nobody was willing to risk his/her career to help her.

The actress described him as God’s very special person, adding that, I swear I don’t wanna write a long speech.

Taking to Twitter to share an old photo of the two after they were honoured by the City of Philadelphia in 2013, Mr Dumelo lauded his colleague for appreciating him over the years.

He gave the advice at the couple’s traditional marriage which was held on Thursday, August 13, 2020.

The duo had their marriage ceremony graced by the likes of gospel musician, Ceccy Twum; music trio, Daughters of Glorious Jesus; Nana Ama Mcbrown, among others.

Actor Majid Michel who was called upon to advise the newlyweds shared insightful marriage nuggets from his 20 years of marriage.

“Congratulations to my brother and sister. Well, you see they say the worst vice is advice but the secret to a successful marriage still remains a secret,” he said.

The actor said it was important for the couple to make prayer the foundation of their marriage.

“I have been with my wife for over 20 years and this advice goes, especially to those listening. When you pray, pray to understand people and not to be understood. Pray to learn to love not to be loved,” he urged.

The guests who were wowed by his powerful advice applauded and cheered him on as he ended his message.

He mentioned Van Vicker as one of the actors who started acting with actors based in Kumasi because the industry wasn’t lucrative in the Ghallywood camp.

Talking on migration from compact disks sales to online sales, Sean Paul said many actors had to fend for themselves through other avenues.

The actor said actor Majid Michel became a pastor because the industry declined, adding that actress Yvonne Nelson wouldn’t have survived without social media app, Instagram.

“Majid is a pastor because the industry is down. They are hungry. With Yvonne Nelson, if not Instagram, hunger will also kill her. Ghallywood died first before Kumawood. Van Vicker was now acting with Lil Win. Before they were claiming Kumawood was local but after he got hungry Van Vicker joined,” Sean Paul said in an interview with Ghpage.

Throwing light on why Ghana’s movie industry is no longer lucrative, the actor who listed comedian Charlie Chaplin as his role model, blamed directors for not being innovative enough and again mentioned how ‘sex for roles’ is engulfing the industry.
