Speaking on Hitz FM’s Daybreak Hitz with Kwame Dadzie and Doreen Avio, the outspoken preacher said his admiration for President Mahama goes beyond politics, describing him as a humble and approachable leader.

It is for this same reason, Kumchacha said, he publicly endorsed President Mahama’s candidacy during the 2024 campaign for the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

“During th last part of his [Mahama] campaign, he met with some members of the clergy, I was part of the about 70 pastors he met. I am the president of that clergy association. I voted for the NDC. I like everything about John Mahama. I like the way he walks, his humility, the way he talks, everything about him is nice,” he reiterated.

True to his expectations, Kumchacha opined the current administration is delivering better governance than its predecessor in terms of economic conditions.

Assessing the government’s performance, he pointed to declining inflation, lower treasury bill rates and reduced fuel prices as evidence that the administration is making progress.

He also commended the government’s decision to reduce the number of ministers, saying the leaner administration has not affected governance but has instead delivered better results.

Kumchacha maintained that without political bias, many ordinary Ghanaians would acknowledge that the current administration is performing better.

Known popularly as Prophet Kumchacha, the controversial preacher voiced his dissatisfaction with the outgoing administration during the swearing-in of John Dramani Mahama as president on Tuesday, January 7, 2025.

“We can all attest to the bad governance Nana Akufo-Addo brought to the nation. The whole world knows Nana Akufo-Addo was the worst president Ghana ever had,” Prophet Kumchacha said.

According to him, Akufo-Addo’s leadership was detrimental to the country, and he expressed relief at the end of the president’s tenure.

Describing the transition of power as a significant moment, Kumchacha declared, “Today marks his final days in office and the new beginning of good and better governance. That is why I’m here.”

He further added that the day’s event – the swearing-in of John Mahama – was historic.

Kumchacha did not mince his words when referring to former President Akufo-Addo, labeling him as the nation’s “greatest enemy.”

He stated, “When we say go and look for the enemy and you meet Akufo-Addo, he’s the enemy.”

The prophet continued by criticizing the former president’s priorities, pointing out the controversial $58 million National Cathedral project, which he described as now a “swimming pool” that Akufo-Addo had initiated.

Prophet Kumchacha expressed optimism for Ghana’s future, promising that the next four years would bring “a massive transformation” under the leadership of the newly sworn-in President John Mahama.

Kumchacha, who had earlier declared his intention to contest as an independent candidate under the Kum People’s Party (KPP), revealed that the requirements set by the Electoral Commission (EC) influenced his decision to step down.

In an interview on Kingdom FM, Kumchacha noted that although he could afford the mandatory GHS 100,000 filing fee, he decided against it after assessing his chances of success.

“I have money, I could have afforded the GHS 100,000 fee, but I can’t pay that amount knowing that I will lose,” he candidly said.

Kumchacha shared that after gathering intelligence and conducting his own survey, he realized that he wouldn’t even make it past the EC’s initial vetting process.

“I had gathered information and intelligence told me based on their survey, I won’t even go past EC’s requirement. The likes of Bernard Mornah, Sam Ankrah did not even have it easy so I knew this year, I wont stand a chance”.

Despite his withdrawal, Kumchacha expressed confidence that he would have made an excellent president, dismissing concerns about his lack of fluency in English.

During his campaign, he had pledged to tackle key national issues such as housing affordability through rent control reforms.

He also promised to reform the criminal justice system by reducing prison sentences for minor offenses and creating state-sponsored employment opportunities for offenders.

His comments were in response to the question of who between the two leaders he would prefer as his running mate for the upcoming 2024 general election, considering the fact that they have similar trades in terms of language. 

Speaking on Joy Prime’s Prime Morning Show with Roselyn Felli, he said Akua Donkor lacks the vision to support him, therefore, he will consider Osofo Kyiri Abosom, claiming that the GUM leader is more capable.

“Akua Donkor has no vision, and I can’t work with her. If I were to choose to align with someone, it would be Osofo Kyiri Abosom. He’s my friend and brother.”

He still insists on his presidential ambition, hoping to contest as an independent candidate with his party, Kum People’s Party (KPP).

Prophet Kumchacha asserted that he will never give up on his presidential vision until he emerges as president of Ghana. He promises to contest, no matter how long it will take him.

“I believe that when you contest something for the first time and you are unable to win, it is not the end of your life. Former president Kufuor contested three (3) times before he became president; Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo contested 3 times before he won as president; and the late president John Evans Atta-Mills contested 3 times before he became president. God hasn’t revealed to me how long it will take, but I’ll contest until I become president one day,” he asserted.

Kumchacha also addressed some comments by Reverend Owusu Pempah regarding his predictions for the upcoming elections in December.

In his recent sermon during the Easter period, the prophet declared that no presidential aspirant can win the elections without visiting his church to receive blessings.

“If I declare that a person won’t be president, I’m not bragging, but what I’ve said about you will come to pass no matter what you do. But when I support you with my heart, you’ll win. So, this is where the presidential seat is based. You can fast and pray, but there’s a little direction you need that requires only my attention,” Owusu Pempah said in his speech.

His declaration did not go down well with most Ghanaians, as he received severe backlash from social media users and some political critics.

But speaking on the show, Prophet Kumchacha agreed to visit Rev. Owusu Pempah to receive his anointing in order to win the elections.

“I’ll go and see him because Rev. Owusu Pempah is a powerful, dynamic man of God, and he’s highly anointed.”

Meanwhile, Prophet Kumchacha says he is not intimidated by language, even though the English language might seem to be a threat to his campaign. He believes that the success of a nation is not dependent on language.

He claimed the officers were at the church to arrest UK-based social media influencer, Maame Ngege after she failed to honur police invitation.

“Something happened in Owusu Bempah’s church recently. When I got to the church premises, I realized one individual was being followed by a police officer. So when I inquired, he said the policemen were looking for one social media influencer called ‘Maame Ngege’ to arrest her. While we were speaking, I saw two pickup vehicles with more than 12 police officers well armored, some of whom wanted to intrude on the church service.

“It baffles me why almost 15 officers would intrude on his church premises without prior notice while service was ongoing. I witnessed what happened, and I realized the approach the police used was wrong. By the time they got there, the woman had gone, so they were searching for her. There have been reports in the media that Owusu Bempah has been arrested, but I want to clarify that it is not true.” he noted.

Prophet Kumchacha expressed his dismay during a recent appearance on Accra-based Okay FM, where he lamented the diminishing presence of physical Bibles in favour of smartphones among congregants, a shift he says has inadvertently facilitated access to explicit content.

“Now people don’t come to church with Bibles. All they come along with is their phones. You’ll be shocked to note that while you ask for quotations, people will be watching pornography on their phones,” Kumchacha remarked.

He emphasized the need for vigilance and discernment among worshippers, cautioning against the temptation to engage in activities inconsistent with the sanctity of the church environment.

While recognizing the advancements of the modern world, Kumchacha emphasized the importance of upholding moral standards and preserving the sacredness of religious gatherings.

According to him, majority of the men of God are afraid to get visa bans if they come out publicly to condemn the act.

Speaking in an interview on Asempa FM’s Ladies Time, the popular pastor said “LGBTQ+ movement is a curse and the reason some of them [pastors] cannot talk about it is because they don’t want travel bans.”

During her recent visit to Ghana, US Veep Kamala Harris urged Ghana to embrace “equality” and respect the rights of homosexuals in the country.

But Prophet Kumchacha took exception to the US Vice President’s decision to push the LGBTQ+ agenda in Ghana.

He could not fathom why she would marry a man and ask others to go against the natural way.

“She is married to a man so why is she advocating for Africans to do that? Why should you bring such laws here? Uganda’s President has been able to stop LGBTQ+ and they are not accepting it.”

Kumchacha further asked why President Akufo-Addo has not been bold to tell the western world that LGBTQ+ is alien to Ghanaians.

“Why is Akufo-Addo not able to come clear on air? Why can’t he deny it bravely? President Mills was able to say it.” he fumed.

Prophet Kumchacha is certain President Akufo-Addo cannot to take a stand due to his quest to get financial assistance from USA.

“It might be due to some financial aid he is after. He [Akufo-Addo] thinks if he goes against it there is no way they will give him money” he bemoaned.

Speaking on Kingdom Radio recently, the controversial man of God insinuated that the Baba hitmaker should not be a hypocrite by calling out Christians who are pork eaters when he is probably worse with inking his body.

“What Sonnie Badu said was quoted from the book of Leviticus 11. But he [Badu] failed to add verses 19-28, which speak against tattoos. It says we shouldn’t draw tattoos of either the living or dead on our bodies.

“He [Badu] was able to talk about the part of Leviticus which focuses on pork but left out the part which speaks against the tattoos he has all over his body.

“In Deuteronomy, the Bible permitted God’s people to eat pork. I want to tell Sonnie Badu that even the pork isn’t enough for us. We are not getting more of it these days,” he said.

This is not the first time Sonnie Badu’s tattoos have become the focus of conversations.

In April last year, the issue of tattoos on his body as a founder of a church came up when he publicly showed his tattoos for the first time.

Some condemned him but his response was that such criticisms were not relevant to him since his wife and family had nothing against it.

In a later interview with Zionfelix, Sonnie Badu explained that the body does not matter when it comes to man’s relationship with God because when a person dies, the soul is what is important to God.

He asked critics to change their mindset that having a tattoo is a sin.

According to him, he doesn’t see the need for the building because it is a waste of taxpayers’ money.

In an interview on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM, the  founder and Leader of the Heaven’s Gate Ministries said he cannot fathom why the state is paying seed money for the church project.

He explained that President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s pledge to build the National Cathedral to glorify God was a personal one, hence, he should resort to private funds to support the project.

The National Cathedral is bogus. Nana Addo promised God to build it for God, so if you are now the president, why should Ken Ofori-Atta come out to collect MoMo? They told us they will not use the taxpayer’s money, but what has happened? Have they or have they not? He queried.

Additionally, Kumchacha said the National Cathedral can never be a priority over bad roads and no bed syndrome facing many hospitals.

He added that, for a country that is inviting the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for aid, there is no need to pan the focus on a project for God.

“We don’t have good roads, hospitals, and we are not even developed… we have one leg at IMF … so if this same country is using $500m dollars for cathedral then what is happening?

“If he was building it from his pocket, we had no problem. He shouldn’t have touched state houses to demolish them. You don’t take the government land for your project. I am saying categorically…most of our politicians don’t say the truth,” he said.

Prophet Kumchacha also advised the incumbent government to reduce the number of ministers if they truly care for the state.

“Our president told us we are sitting on money, yet we are hungry in opposition. I didn’t say it for him. China and India have a big population yet how many ministers do they have? Even USA and Holland, and UK…how many ministers do they have?”

“Has God told someone that his rent is over. So as for me taking out my money for cathedral, it won’t work. I will rather donate to the prisons. So those churches that don’t say the truth, it’s left with two years for the NPP, can they build that cathedral?” Prophet Kumchacha asked.

The leader of Heaven’s Gate Ministries, during an interview on Okay FM, recounted how a lady lured him into her home in Tema to have him sleep with her.

He said it took grace for him to flee from that sexual temptation after the host stripped naked in front of him moments after she asked him to pray for her.

“This is the reason I don’t accept invitations to people’s homes. A lady who had visited my church just once called me to visit her since I was in the neighbourhood. I attended an event in Tema.

“When I arrived, she had dressed indecently, she only had a piece of cloth wrapped around her. I had decided not to spend long at her end. She requested that I pray for her and just when I was about to lay my hand on her she fell on the floor and her cloth came off.”

Describing his experience as a “big temptation,” he intimated that men of God equally have feelings which is why they must thread cautiously when dealing with women.

“She exposed her hairy private part. She had no panty or bra on, it was a trap. She didn’t fall under the anointing, it was a trap. She spread her legs and at that moment I had to run away…It was a big temptation.

“I would have fallen for that trap if I didn’t have self-control. Pastors also get erections, don’t be deceived,” he said.

Kumchacha said a powerful prayer for the mental health advocate who has recently suffered a mental breakdown.

The popular pastor who is convinced Abena Korkor is being manipulated by evil spirits cast them out in a powerful prayer.

Abena Korkor stood barefooted while holding Prophet Kumchacha’s hands as he interceded on her behalf.

The Founder and Leader of the Heaven’s Gate Ministries was involved in the sexual adventure while giving a lecture on the various types of physiques.

He was preaching against tattoos, surgically enhanced bodies and other physical augmentation.

While at it, he was disrupted by the Kingdom FM host to elaborate on how to tell a natural body from that acquired under the knife.

Prophet Kumchacha opted for a practical lecture, and one of the pundits availed herself for touches.

After fondling the backside and other areas, he confirmed her buttocks were original and soft to touch.

He also went on to say the lady is packing in the front areas, while proceeding to caress her breast.

The solemn ceremony took place at Abuakwa Sepaase in the Ashanti Region on Saturday, August 28, 2021.

Notable among them were the Founder and Leader of Anointed Palace Chapel Reverend Francis Kwaku Antwi aka Obofour and the founder of the Glorius Wave Chapel, Prophet Badu Kobi.

The rest were the head pastor of Heaven’s Gate Ministry, Prophet Nicholas Osei aka Kumchacha, the General Overseer and the Founder of God’s Crown Chapel, Rev Reindolph Oduro Gyebi aka Eagle Prophet and Prophet Agya Dan, among others.

There was a loud cheer from the mourners when Reverend Obofour made a grand entry under an umbrella.

Prophet Kobi on the other hand was captured in a somber mood at the funeral grounds in the company of his entourage.

The late Kojo Bonsu, believed to be in his seventies, passed on on Friday, April 9.

He was reportedly rushed to a hospital at Bosomoe in Kumasi after complaining of feverishness and died shortly after.

Popularly known as Prophet Kumchacha, the Man of God said such naysayers are ignorant of fashion, adding he is a regular shopper of designer wears.

On why he is confident his dressing meets international standard, Kumchacha disclosed he attended fashion school to learn how to dress.

He said the idea came to mind when he realized he had no stylist after he was queried during a red carpet session.

It takes at least two-and-half hours for Prophet Kumchacha to pick outfit combinations.

Speaking on this on Adom FM‘s mid-morning Work and Happiness show, Prophet Kumchacha said his friend, counsellor Lutterodt made a poor submission.

According to him, his choice of words and explanation weren’t apt, hence it was only right for him to render an apology to Ghanaaians.

Lutterodt is my friend and brother, we are not perfect but he didn’t make a good submission with all honesty. But what I love is the fact that he has apologised, he told host Black I.

Talking about his possible ban from radio per petitions being signed by the public, Prophet Kumchacha deemed it harsh.

Why are they calling for him to be banned? I don’t know which part of the constitution says if someone doesn’t speak well we should ban him.

Otherwise we would have arrested a lot of the politicians because with them some of them if they speak, you will think there is war about to happen yet we still give them the platform.

Kumchacha who was reacting to the death of his fellow man-of-God revealed he started his ministry with Apraku almost 20 years ago, saying he was therefore saddened to see him in such state prior to his death.

He described those tagging Apraku as fraudulent and dishonest as vessels for the devil, saying he doubts Apraku was ever dishonest.

Kumchacha also claimed that he invited Apraku over to his house for counselling and interview when his death was first reported two weeks ago.

Commenting on Apraku’s state, he said everyone was accountable for their actions.

“The lady who took the video of Apraku in the drunken state did not do well at all. If he was her father, I doubt she would have comfortably taken such videos. The Bible even discourages the act of laughing at someone’s downfall,” he said in an interview on Adom FM’s Work and Happiness with host OPD.

Kumchacha said to honour his late colleague’s memory, he has established a YouTube channel to showcase Apraku’s life in and out of the ministry.

Founder and Leader of the Heaven’s Gate Ministries, Nicholas Osei, popularly known as Prophet Kumchacha, has expressed genuine concerns over the suspension of church services due to coronavirus.

Prophet Kumchacha is not smiling at the indefinite ban of gathering which will affect all church activities including offertory and tithe payment.

However, some Christians have suggested church services should be conducted through online means and monies collected via mobile money, a statement Kumchacha described as nonsensical.

“Nana Agradaa has many fraud cases at the Sowutuom police station but has never been arrested because she has bribed them,” he alleged.

“Nana Agradaa is fake, she is powerless, I can come to your studio and do exactly what she has been doing to trick and charm people for you to see. She and Kwakwu Bonsam dupe people to survive,” he claimed.

Married couples who divorce due to reconcilable differences are candidates for hell more than armed robbers, controversial prophet, Nicholas Osei popularly known as Kumchacha has said.

According to him, God in Malachi 2:16 stated unequivocally that, for I hate divorce!” says the LORD, the God of Israel. “To divorce your wife is to overwhelm her with cruelty”.

Speaking on Asempa FM’s Kanawu show hosted by Kwame Oboadie, the controversial prophet said God’s intention is for marriages to last forever.

He has blamed incessant divorce cases, especially among Christian couples on lust and lack of due diligence on the part of the men.

Prophet Kumchacha who is the Founder and Leader of the Heaven’s Gate Ministries cited how men will quickly marry a woman just because she has big breasts and buttocks and not even care about her character.

“A man will see a lady’s buttock and will be shaking all over. the next moment he will marry her without counselling and she will give him trouble,” he fumed.

Prophet Kumchacha urged the youth to imbibe the value of chastity to ensure that their marriages were strengthened and lasted till death.

One by one, the young musician threw ‘punches’ at the three personalities.

He said that Prophet Kumchacha is an envious person who is not happy with Patapaa’s rise to fame.

About Sonnie Badu, the Kooko ‘advised’ him to concentrate on his gospel music, and stop showing signs of frustration.

About Kwaw Kese, he questioned if he has songs with good lyrical content, stating that Kwaw Kese’s rap is weak like his [Kooko’s] grandfather’s phoenix bicycle.

In a video released to the News Hunter Magazine, the Bono rapper who propagates the Bono language through his music told the critics to stop condemning Patapaa who is behind the ‘One Corner’ craze.

According to him, this is the time for Pataapa to shine so they should leave him to enjoy his fame.

Kumchacha who is calling on religious leaders in the country to rise up against the infamous ‘One Corner Dance’ indicated that it is promoting promiscuity in the country, has rescinded his earlier decision to resort to the court on the matter.

“I have placed a spiritual injunction on the song. It will not make any progress because it is a demonic song. The music is demonic, stupid and useless. We must immediately initiate ways to stop it before it gets out of hand. What song is it that married women, underage children, and youth have indulged in? I am just against it and if I do not speak about it God will not be pleased”

He said the lyrics in the song are not good the dance associated with it is equally not in tune with the upbringing of the youth in Ghana.

“Regardless of what people will say about me, I will ban the song spiritually. I have bought a copy of the CD wait for the next two to three months you will see what happens”, boasted on Kofi TV.

The founder and leader of the Heaven’s Gate Ministries claimed fans of Patapaa, the Swedru-based musician are threatening to rape him should he go ahead to seek the injunction.

The man of God will be praying the court to place an injunction on the song to stop all radio and television stations across the country from playing the song.

The dance and song, currently the biggest song in Ghana, has seen people go gaga by either perching on whatever object is before them, go under cars, chairs or whatever while others isolate themselves on the ground to do a wild gyrating moves.

Some entertainment personalities including Funny Face and actor Kwaku Manu have all recorded videos dancing to the song.

The song and dance craze have transcended the shores of the country with Nigerian music star Reekado Banks and Falz all dancing to it.

In spite of the song being internationally recognized, Prophet Kumchacha in an interview on Kofi TV said it is encouraging promiscuity.

But whiles Prophet Kumchacha is lacing his boots to court, he said some women claiming to be girlfriends of Patapaa have bombarded his mobile phone with their naked videos.

The motive is to ‘sexually bribe’ him to rescind his decision for them to enjoy the ‘One Corner’ song.

“The women sent me naked videos seducing me to have sex with them. Prophet Kumchacha come and chop in fact I’m threatened” he bemoaned.

Prophet Kumchacha said though chiefs, government officials and opinion leaders in Swedru have called on him not to go to court, he has placed on injunction on ‘One Corner’ song spiritually.

Justice Amoah popularly known as Patapaa said ‘One Corner’ has gained international recognition due to the years of fasting and prayers and not by any voodoo means.

His comment follows claims by some pastors and gospel musicians that the hit song is demonic. They among other things cited how people are killed or injured when they do the ‘One Corner’ dance craze.

Patapaa’s ‘One Corner’ dance has taken the Ghanaian social sphere by storm, as the track has now turned into the newest internet trend since the ‘Follow the ladder Challenge.’

The song with its subsequent new “challenge” sees excited listeners of the song move their waists and bend down in forward gyrating movements on the ground, under objects and basically, in various ‘corners.’

Celebrities such as Kwaku Manu, Moesha Boduong, Yaw Dabo and even way beyond Ghana’s borders such as Nigeria’s WizKid have taken the trend up to a whole new level.

But gospel musician Sony Badu and Nicholas Osei, popularly known as Prophet Kumchacha said the song is ungodly.

Kumchacha who is also the Founder and Leader of the Heaven’s Gate Ministries is heading to court to seek a court injunction to prevent radio and television stations from playing it.

But in a quick rebuttal, Patapaa in an exclusive interview on Adom News Thursday expressed disappointment in the men of God condemning his song.

Rather, he urged them to use ‘One Corner’ now internationally recognized to win more souls for Christ.

The musician who is a member of the SDA Church could not fathom why these suppose men of God was moving heaven on earth to make the song unpopular which is a dream come true.

Patapaa revealed how his over 70 songs have not seen the light of day and now want to use ‘One Corner’ to re-lunch his career ‘and these fake pastors want to kill my shine’.

“I have been an underground artiste for a long time now that I’m reaping the fruit of my labour. I have over 70 songs and this is the only one which has hit so why do they want to kill my shine?” He quizzed.

While urging for caution, Patapaa appealed for support to develop his career.

The man of God will be praying the court to place an injunction on the song to stop all radio and television stations across the country from playing the song.

The dance and song, currently the biggest song in Ghana, has seen people go gaga by either perching on whatever object is before them, go under cars, chairs or whatever while others isolate themselves on the ground to do a wild gyrating moves.

Some entertainment personalities including Funny Face and actor Kwaku Manu have all recorded videos dancing to the song.

The song and dance craze have transcended the shores of the country with Nigerian music star Reekado Banks and Falz all dancing to it.

In spite of the song being internationally recognized, Prophet Kumchacha in an interview on Kofi TV said it is encouraging promiscuity.

He could not fathom why such a “foolish song” is getting massive airplay when good songs from musicians like Amakye Dede, KK Kabobo, Akwesi Ampong Agyei are not being played on radio.

Citing Ecclesiastes 7:5 which says it is better to hear the rebuke of the wise, than for a man to hear the song of fools, the leader of Heaven’s Gate Ministries underscored the need for the song to be banned which has led to the death of some people.

Prophet Kumchacha said anyone who dances to the demonic ‘One Corner’ song will go to hell.

His prophecy comes on the heels of a video which captures Afia Schwarzenegger in bed with another man suggesting that she was engaging in extra marital affairs.

The video recorded by Lawrence Abrokwah, ‘husband’ of Afia Schwarzenegger, surfaced online with many chastising the actress.

But speaking on Kofi TV, Kumchacha expressed disappointment in the development and urged Ghanaians not to be hard on Afia prophesying that she will be a messenger of the gospel and win souls for God.

“Afia should calm down; the media and everyone should also calm down. What I will say is, Afia will become the greatest evangelist in Ghana. Mark it on the wall. So to speak, such persons are able to preach to others to change from their evil means when they convert. God has revealed to me that Afia Schwarzenegger will be a great evangelist in Ghana. She will be the greatest and win souls for Christ. The book of Ezekiel says God doesn’t take delight in the death of the wicked. I have prophesy and it shall surely come to pass,” he proclaimed.

Meanwhile, Rev Owusu Bempah, founder and leader of Glorious Word and Power Ministries has advised Afia Schwarzenegger to render an apology to persons she has offended or face the worst.

In an interview on Peace FM, he intimated that the situation Afia Schwarzenegger finds herself in is as a result of the level of insolence and an allegation she made that he [Owusu Bempah] paid her to hook him up with young girls from South Africa to satisfy his sexual pleasures.

“It is not all men of God that we joke with. Before man and god what is about to happen to Afia is worse than what she is experiencing right now. I don’t usually curse but when you do something to hurt me and I go before God, something happens

“Tell Afia Schwarzenegger that she should be careful with her utterances on social media and her followers because they are pushing her to the grave,” he noted.

 
“We men of God aren’t God to tell you that when you give offering you will get the result that same day, we’re not God… So what if it doesn’t happen then you’ve become a liar. They are just using 419 to defraud their members” he stressed.
