The accident occurred on Thursday morning after the bus with registration number GG 5639-19 skidded off the road and plunged into a river at Fetteh Kakraba.

Information gathered by Adom News suggests that, the contractor, Nag Fairmont Company working on the Kasoa -Cape Coast Highway failed to cover the bridge which is under construction at Fetteh Kakraba.

In an interview, some residents and eyewitnesses lamented that, the contractor has failed to put safety signs along the bridge, posing danger to commuters.

They have therefore appealed to the Minister of Roads and Highway, Francis Asenso-Boakye to call the contractor and engineers to order.

Meanwhile, the victims are receiving treatment at Awutu Bereku Health Center.

The Minister hinted the project is expected to be completed within 30 months.

He has therefore directed all Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) on the stretch to inform container owners to remove them before the contractor starts work.

Meanwhile, the District Chief Executives (DCEs) for Gomoa East, Solomon Darko Quarm, Awutu Senya East; Anita Love Obo Amissah and Awutu Senya West; Joseph Aidoo have pledge to ensure strict adherence to the directive.

In an interview with Adom News, an eyewitness, Ibrahim Abubakar, revealed that, the Okada rider was driving in the middle of the road due to heavy traffic on the road.

The okada rider attempted overtaking the truck when a metal on the side of the truck pulled them to the ground.

The back tyre of the truck run over them, leaving the female passenger dead on the spot and her body in a bizarre state.

The okada rider on the other hand sustained severe injuries to his leg.

Emergency response teams were dispatched to the scene to provide urgent medical assistance before rushing the victim to the hospital.

The body of the deceased, believed to be in her late twenties, has been retrieved and deposited at the morgue awaiting identification.

The accident occurred between a Toyota Corolla with registration number AS 3677-14, a Honda Pilot with registration number GT 8111-10, a Tipper car, and a sprinter Benz bus.

According to eyewitness accounts, the driver of the Toyota Corolla was travelling from Accra to Winneba direction, while the other three cars were heading from Winneba direction to Accra.

The Toyota Corolla driver veered off from his lane and collided with the back tyre of the tipper car, resulting in the crashes.

As a result of the impact, the couple who were in the Toyota Corolla suffered severe injuries.

Emergency services quickly responded to the scene and rushed the injured couple to Potsin Polyclinic for medical treatment.

Local police officers from Gomoa Dominase, Potsin, and Okyereko were also present to assist with clearing the road and managing the situation.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.

Meanwhile, residents have made an appeal to the Ghana Highway Authority to construct speed ramps on the highway to mitigate accidents and prevent loss of lives and damage to property.

The Public Relations Officer of Winneba fire station, ADO1 Ebenezer Fiifi Dadzie, confirmed the incident to Adom News.

He said the Honda Civic made a wrong overtaking, lost control and collided with the Cargo leading to the multiple crashes.

ADO1 Dadzie said that all the victims have been rushed to Winneba Trauma and Specialist Hospital for treatment.

Information gathered by Adom News indicates a Kia Bongo driver coming from Apam made a wrongful overtaking but couldn’t control his brakes which resulted in the accident.

The Apam District Fire Service official, AFO Adolf Nuamah, said the Benz truck was coming from Winneba direction to Apam while both the Kia Bongo and the Toyota Hiace were also coming from Apam to Winneba Direction.

He said the Benz cargo truck attempted to avoid collision with the Kia Bongo but lost control and collided with the Toyota Hiace from the opposite side.

Two persons are said to be in critical condition in the accident that occurred on Friday morning.

The first accident happened at Okyereko Junction after the driver of a Kia truck loaded with wood lost control.

The vehicle hit a street light pole and ran into a ditch on the stretch.

The second accident happened at Apam junction after a Toyota Fish with registration number CR 1759-21 crashed with a tipper truck.

The Apam District Fire Service Commander, ACFO Adolf Ankomah Nuamah, confirmed the incident to Adom News.

ACFO Nuamah said the tipper truck was from Mumford and the Toyota also travelling from Cape Coast.

He narrated tipper truck driver was about to make a u-turn but the oncoming Toyota driver was speeding and in an attempt to pull the brake, he veered into a nearby filling station and crashed into the stationary KIA truck.

Over 15 passengers have been seriously injured in an accident at Gomoa Nyamebekyere on the Kasoa Cape Coast Highway in the Central Region.

The accident occurred near the Gomoa Dominase onion market on Friday evening in a collision involving a Ford with a Tipper truck.

Preliminary investigations by the Winneba Municipal Fire service indicate that the Ford with the registration number GE 7270-17 was travelling from Takoradi to Accra.

The driver made a wrongful overtaking and collided with the tipper which was coming from the opposite direction.

In an interview with Adom News, the officer in charge of the rescue team from the Winneba Municipal Fire service station, ADO2 Jude Oppong Manu, confirmed the incident.

He said the driver of the Ford was stuck in his car for an hour due to the impact of the crash but was rescued and rushed to the Winneba Trauma and Specialist Hospital together with other passengers.

The fair and slim deceased male, who is believed to be a Northener, was found by the roadside without clothes with gory injuries on multiple parts of his body.

In an interview with Adom News, some eyewitnesses told correspondent Kofi Adjei that they believe it is a hit-and-run situation or his body was dumped there after being killed elsewhere.

Meanwhile, Assembly member for Esuahyia-Kutukwaa electoral area, Patrick Forson, said he called on the police and Environmental Protection Agency to analyse and convey the body.

Eight persons are in critical condition in an accident involving a Toyota Fish vehicle at Gomoa Odumase on the Kasoa- Cape Coast Highway in the Central Region.

The accident occurred in the late hours of Tuesday.

The vehicle with registration number GR 5861-21, according to reports, crashed into a tree after one of its front tyres burst.

Seven other passengers who were onboard the vehicle also sustained various degrees of injuries.

The Apam District Fire Commander, DO1 Adolf Ankomah Nuamah, who confirmed the incident to Adom News‘ Kofi Adjei said the driver lost control of the vehicle, leading to the crash.

The Omankrado of Gomoa Odumase, Nana Oshyew Akaa, has called for the construction of speed ramps to reduce rampant accidents.

All 15 persons are undergoing treatment at St Luke’s Catholic Hospital at Apam.

Reports indicate the trailer with the registration number GM 3587- 21 was transporting cement from Cape Coast towards Accra.

Upon reaching a section of the road, it rammed into a broken truck loaded with scraps parked in the middle of the highway.

The Apam District Fire Service Commander, D01 Adolf Ankomah Nuamah, confirmed the incident to Adom News‘ Kofi Adjei.

D01 Nuamah has since cautioned drivers to put warning signs at the back of their faulty cars to alert incoming drivers to reduce road accidents.

Meanwhile, the management of the Apam Hospital says they are working hard to save the lives of the two persons.

Reports gathered at the scene indicate that a Toyota Land Cruiser with registration number GX 2309-15 collided with a taxi GT 9775-09 which in turn rammed into an articulator truck at Buduatta junction.

Driver of the truck, who gave his version, told Adom News’ Kofi Adjei that the Land Cruiser was heading towards Cape Coast and made a wrong overtaking and collided with the taxi plying the opposite route.

Yaw Baah also added that though both cars veered into his lane, he failed to stop as he was protecting his car which contained explosive materials being conveyed to a mining site.

That, however, did not prevent the taxi from ramming into the rear of his truck.

Two persons, believed to be from the taxi, sustained various degrees of injuries and have been conveyed to the Winneba Government Hospital.

Police officers from Gomoa Ojobi, who were alerted about the casualties, have towed both vehicles to the police station while investigations are ongoing.

Per Adom News reports, the sprinter driver lost control from a flat tyre and ran into coconut sellers on the Kasoa Cape Coast Highway in the Central Region.

An eyewitness to the accident, Joe Acquah, said the accident happened after the vehicle’s tyre busted and ran into four coconut sellers as two passengers also lost their lives.

“I heard the vehicle tyre bust and by the time I got there, the vehicle had already crashed into four coconut sellers,” he stated.

“One of them (coconut sellers) was instantly killed by the car but the other three survived,” he added.

According to Mr Acquah, the deceased resides at Ekotsi however, he came to help his peers who sold coconut near the accident scene.

The bodies of the deceased have been transferred to Saltpond Government Hospital Mortuary for Preservation and autopsy.

Information gathered suggested the accident occurred in a head-on collision after the driver of the Toyota Corolla made a wrong overtaken.

In an interview with Adom News, some from the Metro Mass bus narrated their driver attempted to swerve the Corolla but was not successful.

The driver of the Toyota Corolla died on the spot, leaving 10 passengers in the metro bus seriously injured including the driver.

Sgt Salihu, who is stationed at the Apam District Police Command was said to have died after a private truck, with registration number CR 319-11 heading from Mankessim towards Apam knocked him off the road.

According to Police, the suspect driver, Francis Akese, aged 50 was in the company of two others and upon reaching a section of the road near Greenfield Police Snap checkpoint, sped off without due care and attention.

Police say the victim sustained various degrees of injury and was rushed to Apam Catholic Hospital but died while receiving treatment.
