Member of Parliament for Nsawam-Adoagyiri in the Eastern Region, Frank Annoh-Dompreh has hit back at critics downplaying the impact of the Nation Builders Corps (NABCO) initiative.

According to, Mr Annoh-Dompreh, unlike the many fraudulent and corrupt schemes that were undertaken by the John Mahama, administration, the new government is mindful of how it spends state funds.

I know the NDC is always critical of the Akufo Addo government but sometimes, they should just appreciate what we do to better the lives of the ordinary Ghanaian. NABCO is an initiative which seeks to create jobs.

“Unlike the Mahama administration whose administration blew huge amounts of state funds through corrupt schemes such as the Savannah Accelerated Development Authority’s Guinea Fowl project, the Akufo-Addo government has and will never engage in any such scheme but rather give more jobs to the people,” he said on Accra based Neat FM monitored by Adomonline.com.

The government introduced the NABCO as an alternative job creation opportunity for the country’s jobless graduates.

The programme also forms part of government’s commitment towards addressing the high unemployment rate in the country.

The programme, which will be managed by the office of the President, will focus on alleviating shortfalls in public service delivery.

But Mr Annor Dompreh, who is also the Chairman of Parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee, is asking the NDC who have been critical of the initiative to swallow their pride and come up with a better alternative instead of criticising the programme.

“As a credible opposition party, I urge them to provide a better alternative if NABCO is a vote-buying move,” he slammed.
