Communications Director of the governing New Patriotic Party, Yaw Buabeng Asamoah, has fired salvos at the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).

He believes the NDC’s constant attack on the President is just an agenda to re-capture power, a situation he says the NPP government will never allow.

His comment follows Minority in Parliament’s claim that government wants to relocate the University to Bunso instead of the earlier plan of sitting it at Somanya.

But President Akufo-Addo has called on Ghanaians especially the people of Yilo Krobo to ignore the claims.

Addressing a durbar of Chiefs and people of Krobo at Somanya on Thursday as part of a 3-day working visit to the Eastern Region, the President indicated that the contractual agreement signed with the Italians who have provided 45 million euros funding for the project does not allow any individual, including himself to make such a move.

“This is the misinformation that is being peddled by our political opponents. These are people who are looking at a long period in opposition. It is only one University of Environment and Sustainable Development here in the Eastern Region. It is the first public University in the Eastern Region,” he said.

But President’s comment did not go down well with members of the opposition who as a result are throwing missiles at the President for describing the NDC as propagandists.

However, Mr. Buabeng Asamoah believes their political opponents are only being economical with the truth and have resorted to attacking the President for stating the obvious truth.

“Sometimes I wonder why the NDC would think we are like them. They always live in a state of lies and so always want to associate themselves with us. Akufo-Addo will and can never relocate the university to a different place so why the attack on him” he quizzed on Accra based Okay FM monitored by Adomonline.com.
