Delta Force, a pro-New Patriotic Party Vigilante group, has denied attacking Member of Parliament for Tafo-Pankrono in the Ashanti Region, Dr Anthony Akoto Osei.

According to the spokesperson for the group, Musa Tasuri, they only stormed the meeting to express their frustration for failed promises the MP made to them.

He said reports that they chased the MP away are completely false, misleading and a deliberate attempt by some persons to unnecessarily incite the public against their group.

We didn’t go there to attack our MP; he promised us jobs and promised to recruit us into the security services but for all these months, he has refused to even visit us, not to talk of getting us jobs so we went there to have a meeting with him but not to attack him,” he said on Accra based Okay FM monitored by Adomonline.com.

Local reports say the young men, riding on motorbikes, destroyed chairs arranged for a meeting in the constituency as the Monitoring and Evaluation Minister took to his heels.

Musa Tasuri said they have been taken for granted after they were used to protect ballot boxes during the 2016 general elections.

The lawmaker, he noted, no longer picks their calls irrespective of the promises, adding that they are jobless and could barely make ends meet.

These, he said, prompted them to go for answers from the MP who has refused to listen to their plea.

Musa Tasuri says they have given Dr Akoto Osei some ultimatum to address their concerns or face their wrath.

We have asked the men to calm down but we have also warned the MP to deal with the issue or he will face our wrath,” he warned.
