Deputy Minister of Transport, Daniel Nii Kwartei Titus-Glover says government will champion a post-audit of all earth-moving equipment of mining companies and ensure that they pay the due license fees to the Drivers, Vehicle and Licensing Authority (DVLA).

He noted that over the years, mining companies have failed to register and pay licensing fees to DVLA for their earth-moving equipment, but said all will change very soon.

The Deputy Minister observed that mining companies usually import equipment in parts so the license is undervalued, but now they will ensure that the companies pay the license for the full assembled equipment.

Mr Kwartei Titus-Glover was speaking during a tour of the DVLA offices in Weija and 37 Wednesday.

Stephen Kofi Dawuni, a driver who had failed the DVLA test four times already, due to the language of instruction, appealed to the Deputy Minister to help DVLA to put measures in place to customize test for people like him who cannot read and write English.

The Deputy Minister assured the driver he will fix that problem.
