The Member of Parliament for Kpandai Constituency, Mathew Nyindam, has presented 176 sewing machines and hairdryers to newly graduated seamstresses and hairdressers across the constituency, in a move aimed at promoting youth employment and entrepreneurship.
The beneficiaries, who completed their vocational training in 2025, received the equipment at a brief ceremony attended by local leaders, party supporters, and residents.
The initiative forms part of the MP’s ongoing efforts to empower young people with practical tools to establish their own businesses and become financially independent.

Speaking at the event, Mr Nyindam underscored the importance of vocational skills development in tackling unemployment, particularly among the youth.
He noted that providing start-up equipment remains a critical step in ensuring that graduates are able to translate their skills into sustainable livelihoods.
“This support is meant to ease your transition from training into full-time work. I encourage you to make good use of these tools to build thriving businesses and contribute meaningfully to the local economy,” he said.
The MP further reaffirmed his commitment to prioritising skills training and youth empowerment initiatives within the Kpandai Constituency, adding that such interventions are key to reducing poverty and improving living standards.

Some of the beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the support, describing it as timely and transformative. They indicated that acquiring such equipment would have been difficult without assistance, and pledged to put the items to good use.
The distribution of the sewing machines and hairdryers is expected to boost small-scale enterprises in the area, while also creating employment opportunities for others within the community.
