Actress Nikki Samonas has reignited debate on motherhood and societal expectations, asking whether childbirth should be seen as a necessity for women.
Speaking on Neat FM, she made it clear she is in no rush to have a child, stressing that motherhood is not a life requirement she feels compelled to meet.
While she says she values companionship, Nikki insists it does not have to come from having children, noting that family, friends, pets and relationships all count.
She explained that her decision is not driven by fear or uncertainty, but by the realities of modern life and the need to be emotionally and financially prepared before raising a child.
“I have to be very sure of who I carry a baby for,” she said, adding that although she has never been pregnant, she believes things will happen when the time is right.
She also dismissed speculation about infertility, pointing out that she comes from a family with a strong history of fertility.
As an only child, Nikki added that she is mindful of not placing undue responsibility on others until she is ready to take that step.
Her comments have since sparked conversation online, with many weighing in on the balance between personal choice and societal expectations surrounding motherhood.
