Former Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah is reported to be in the lead for the vacant Black Stars coaching job, as the search for the new Black Stars coaching job goes to the next level.

Appiah, was sacked after a chaotic World Cup campaign in Brazil that saw the team crash out of the group stage.

The 56-year-old made history by becoming the first indigenous coach to lead the Black Stars to World Cup but paid the ultimate price for the team’s inability to progress to the next round of the competition in Brazil.

Avram Grant took over from him with Appiah heading to Sudan with Al Khartoum where he has done a decent job so far.

According to often reliable Accra based Happy FM, kwesi Appiah is aware that he has a good chance of getting the job with Ghanaians pushing for a home grown coach to replace departed Israeli Avram Grant.

Over 70 coaches are reported to have applied for the job which is one of the most lucrative on the African continent.
