Dormaa based Aduana Stars came from a goal down to beat Elmina Sharks 2-1 at home to command a firm grip as winners of the 2016/2017 Premier League title.

Operations Manager of the team, George Gyawu believes they are genuine league leaders despite immense controversies surrounding their victory against the lads from Elmina.

Attacking midfielder, Sam Adams converted a second-half spot-kick to hand Aduana stars the trophy, a call many believed shouldn’t have stood but George Gyawu believes it was a right call by the centre referee.

“Taking a critical look at the penalty awarded Aduana again, it was a good call and I think we played very well this season and deserve the league title”, George explained.

Aduana Stars won their second league title against Ashgold with 57 points after coming first in the 2009/2010 league season.
