Ghana’s Black Princesses have booked their place at the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup after holding Uganda to a 1-1 draw in Kampala on Saturday afternoon.

The decisive second-leg qualifier, played at the FUFA Stadium in Kidiba, saw Uganda take an early lead in the 6th minute, giving the home side hope of overturning a 2-1 first-leg deficit suffered in Accra last week.

Despite going into the break trailing, Ghana stayed composed and eventually found their breakthrough in the 78th minute, when Linda Owusu Ansah struck the equaliser to silence the home crowd and secure qualification.

The result confirms Ghana’s place at an eighth consecutive U-20 Women’s World Cup, underlining the team’s consistency at youth level on the global stage.

The 2026 edition of the tournament will be staged in Poland later this year.
