Nigerian music star Davido has been honoured with the Best African Song award at the Telecel Ghana Music Awards for his hit track “With You,” featuring fellow Nigerian artiste Omah Lay.

The ceremony, held at the Grand Arena in Accra, saw Davido emerge victorious in one of the most competitive continental categories of the night, reinforcing his continued influence on Africa’s music scene.

“With You” stood out among a strong lineup of African hits that highlighted the depth and diversity of the continent’s soundscape over the past year.

The category featured heavyweight competition, including “Laho II” by Shallipopi featuring Burna Boy, “Kelebu” by Rema, “Nakupenda” by TxC, and “Joy is Coming” by Fido.

Other nominees in the category also included collaborations from various African acts such as Shoday, Scotts Maphuma featuring Zlatan, AI Xapo, and international entries like “Tyla” by Tyla featuring Chanel.

Davido’s win adds to his long list of continental accolades and further cements his position as one of Africa’s most consistent hitmakers on the global stage.

The Best African Song category is traditionally one of the most closely watched at the TGMA, and this year was no different, with strong representation from Nigeria and South Africa reflecting the growing competitiveness of African music.

Davido’s recognition in Accra was met with excitement from fans and industry players, marking another highlight moment in a night filled with major continental music achievements.
