Musician Wendy Shay has won the Best Afrobeats/Afropop Artiste award at the 27th edition of the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) currently underway at the Grand Arena in Accra.
The singer emerged winner in a highly competitive category featuring Kojo Blak, KiDi, Olivetheboy, Gyakie and Moliy.
Receiving the award, Wendy Shay revealed that fellow nominee KiDi, who was seated behind her in the auditorium, had also expressed his support and wished for her to win the category.
She dedicated the award to God, her team and the other nominees.
The Telecel Ghana Music Awards celebrates excellence in Ghana’s music industry and has brought together musicians, producers, entertainment personalities and music lovers from across the country.
The ceremony continues with more performances and award presentations as fans celebrate another year of Ghanaian music achievements.
