Senior lecturer at the University of Ghana, Professor Ransford Yaw Gyampo, has observed that some political parties only resurface during election years and go to sleep thereafter.
For him, those groups are not political parties worth their salt but rather election machines.

He, therefore, sees it as a waste of space for some of these parties to be cleared by the Electoral Commission to contest elections.
