Kurt Okraku

The President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Okraku, has revealed plans to offer new Back Stars coach a long term contract.

This decision follows Ghana’s disappointing performance at the ongoing 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Côte d’Ivoire.

Many have argued that, due to the short term contracts given to coaches, they don’t focus on the job.

The GFA has therefore resolved to give the new coach enough time to organise the team.

With just over four years in his role as GFA President, Okraku is spearheading efforts to appoint a fifth head coach for the senior national team, aiming for a long-term arrangement to rejuvenate the team’s performance.

“We are dedicated to securing a comprehensive agreement with the new coaching team, extending this strategy to encompass all our national teams,” Mr. Okraku affirmed.
