Real Madrid reached the final of the Club World Cup after a straightforward 2-0 victory over Club America in Yokohoma, which extended their unbeaten run to 36 matches.

The European Champions dispatched the CONCACAF Champions League winners after goals from Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Zinedine Zidane’s men looked a bit rusty in the opening period, with Ballon d’Or winner Ronaldo hitting the post with a header and firing two poor free-kicks into a wall – though turning one of the rebound into an excellent shot that was saved.

However, Benzema struck with the last kick of the half after he was played in by Toni Kroos and finished into the top corner, before Ronaldo sealed the win in second-half injury time.

Real will face Kashima Antlers on Suday in Yokohoma at 7.30pm local time (10.30am in Ghana).
