Black Starlets ready for crucial clash against Ivory Coast – Deputy captain Ofori

Deputy captain of Ghana’s U-17 side, Ernest Ofori, has affirmed that the Black Starlets are fully prepared for their crucial encounter against Ivory Coast today, September 23, in the WAFU Zone B U-17 Championship.

Ghana began their campaign with a 1-1 draw against Togo and will now face the host nation at the Charles Konan Banny Stadium.

Ofori, who featured in the opening game, expressed confidence in Ghana’s chances during Monday’s pre-match press conference.

“We’re fully prepared for Ivory Coast,” he said.

“We know what is at stake, and we’ve worked hard in training to put ourselves in a good position to win. All we will need to do is to be tactically disciplined, and the job against Ivory Coast will be easier,” he added.

Ivory Coast currently tops Group A after defeating Niger 2-0 in their opening fixture. A victory for Ghana would see them leapfrog the Ivorians ahead of their final group game on Friday, September 26.

Kick-off is scheduled for 18:00 GMT.
