Sports Minister Kofi Adams inspires Kotoko and GoldStars ahead of CAF competitions

Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, has thrown his weight behind Asante Kotoko and Bibiani GoldStars as they gear up for their respective CAF inter-club campaigns.

GoldStars, making their debut on the continental stage, face Algerian giants JS Kabylie later today in the first leg of the CAF Champions League preliminary round at the Accra Sports Stadium. On Sunday, Kotoko will welcome Nigeria’s Kwara United to the same venue in the Confederation Cup.

Ahead of the crucial fixtures, Adams paid visits to both camps, urging the players to rise to the occasion and fly Ghana’s flag high.

He assured them of government’s commitment to supporting local clubs through infrastructure development, sound policies, and technical assistance.

“As you represent Ghana, know that the entire nation is behind you,” Adams told the players.

“These matches are bigger than your clubs; they are about Ghana’s pride on the African stage,” he added.

To further boost morale, Adams, who is also the Member of Parliament for Buem Constituency, presented GH¢10,000 each to the two clubs in support of their preparations.
