Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako, has sworn to ‘break’ investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas and his investigative team which according to him have been blackmailing people with their works.
Chairman Wontumi as he is popularly known, speaking on Adom TV’s ‘Badwam’ on Tuesday said he and some others he stopped shot of naming, will do this as a way of ensuring fairness in the country.
“He has a very big group and team and very soon, we will break them…,” he threatened in the interview.
The vociferous NPP regional chairman has accused the investigative journalist of concocting evidence against people over the years.
These concoctions, he said, have caused “certain people their jobs and livelihoods”. This, he said, explains his reason for seeking to break the investigative journalist.

“Do you mean Anas is bigger than Multimedia which makes serious revelations? He is not but why must a journalist come to me with his face covered?,” he quizzed.
The celebrated investigative journalist has, over the years, unraveled corruption in various institutions in the country.
His tagline has been to ‘name, shame and jail’ all the corrupt people that he investigates.
Anas’ latest work, Number12 which he will be premiering at the Conference Centre on Wednesday, 6th June, 2018 has been the subject of several discussions.
Assin Central Member of Parliament (MP), Kennedy Agyapong has been at the forefront of criticisms against the investigative journalist.
