The Police at Prang in the Pru West District of Brong-Ahafo Region seeking to arrest a Fulani herdsman, Umaru Gariba, alias Burger, who allegedly killed his 70-year-old wife at Seidu, a village near Prang and fled afterward.

Chief inspector Augustine Kingsley Oppong, the Brong-Ahafo Regional Police Public Relations Officer confirmed to the Ghana News Agency on Tuesday in Sunyani.

He said on Sunday, July 15, one Alhaji Bawa Mama, also a Fulani herdsman accompanied by five other community members reported the matter at the Prang Police Station

Chief Inspector Oppong said at about 0500 hours that day, Gariba had a misunderstanding with his wife Hadiza Alhassan over an issue and a fight ensued between them.

In the process the woman fell and died, he said and added that her body had been deposited at the St. Mathias Catholic Hospital at Yeji in the Pru East District, pending autopsy whilst Police are making efforts to arrest the suspect for further investigations.
