Popular media personality, Nana Aba Anamoah, has opened up on her share of sexual harassments as she recounts how a man sent her an erected penis on social media.
Commenting on the issue of sexual harassment in an interview on Joy News, monitored by Adomonline.com, she cited an instance in which someone sent her a picture of his erected penis on Instagram, saying that was how he felt anytime he saw her picture.
She added that Instagram later apologized to her, saying they were putting up policies and measures in place to guard against such activities.
Ms Anamoah stated that although it can be difficult for women to say no to sexual harassment sometimes, they ought to be bold enough to tell men to stop harassing them.
You need to understand that you have some dignity to protect and you need to stop them because, they say it once, twice and you don’t say anything about it and they think you like it and before you know it, they are raping you or defiling you in the case of a child, she said.
We need to advise our young ladies and talk more about sexual harassment because the more we talk about it, the more we draw lessons from it, she added.
The issue of sexual harassment has dominated headlines for some days now, after the BBC’s ‘sex for grades’ expose.
