President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Okraku, has urged the Black Starlets to approach the upcoming U-17 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) with courage and determination as they seek to make the country proud.

Ghana will compete in the tournament in Morocco later this month, where they have been drawn in Group D alongside Algeria, Senegal and South Africa.

Speaking to the team before their departure, Okraku encouraged the players to believe in themselves and not be intimidated by any opposition.

“Go out there with courage, play with pride, and never be afraid of any opponent, he said.

“Ghana has a rich history in youth football, and it is your time to write the next chapter. Make the nation proud,” Mr Okraku added.

Meanwhile, the Black Starlets will fine-tune their preparations with a warm-up friendly against Mali later today at 16:00 GMT ahead of the tournament.
