Deputy National Women’s Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Abigail Elorm Mensah, is of the view that President Nana Akufo-Addo will implement the Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) if voted for in 2020.

According to her, the president has not been truthful with Ghanaians on the CSE.

“Unlike the Mahama-led administration that was firm on our position regarding the CSE and rejected the money that was offered, the Akufo-Addo government has not been able to do so,” she said.

Speaking on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem show, she said she is confident Ghanaians have always made up their minds to vote out the New Patriotic Party to reject the CSE.

“The Akufo-Addo-led government has already taken money for the implementation of CSE and will definitely implement it when voted for in 2020,” she said.

President Akufo-Addo, while speaking for the first time on the controversial CSE debate, said his vision as a president is to promote national development and not immorality.

Speaking at the St Cyprians Anglican Church in Kumasi last Sunday, the president said: “There have been talks in recent times about me and my government introducing some inappropriate materials into schools. I brought the free senior high school to strengthen our education and so I will not allow any immoral material to enter our schools. I’m a Christian and as long as I sit as President of Ghana, I will not allow anything like that in our schools so I urge you all to be calm because I won’t let that happen.”
