Ghanaian rapper Kojo Cue has revealed that he took a break from music following the tragic loss of his twin daughters shortly after birth.
Speaking on The Pesewa Podcast on May 3, 2026, the rapper disclosed that the heartbreaking incident occurred in 2020 during the COVID-19 period.
According to him, his wife, Professor Priscilla Kolibea Mante, delivered the twins prematurely, and the babies were placed in an incubator for about two weeks before they passed away.
“In 2020, my wife had twins—twin girls—but they were born prematurely and were in an incubator for about two weeks. Then they died, and we went into lockdown,” he said.
Kojo Cue explained that the loss deeply affected him emotionally and disrupted his creative process, making it difficult to return to music, which had previously served as his coping mechanism.
“I just went down another path altogether. Normally, I turn to music, but I couldn’t. It was too fresh,” he stated.
He added that instead of turning to music, he withdrew from his usual activities as he struggled to process the grief.
“I was trying to run from it for as long as I could… I was doing anything and everything just to take my mind off it,” he said.
The rapper noted that the experience forced him to step back from music temporarily as he sought ways to cope with the emotional impact of the loss.
