Akufo Addo tour

National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for Sunyani West constituency has described President Nana Akufo-Addo’s tour of the Bono region as a “fruitless venture.”

Millicent Yeboah Amankwah said the tour, characterised with pomp and pageantry, was just to commission populists projects.

President Akufo-Addo paid a two-day working tour of the Bono region. Among his itinerary was a visit to the paramount chiefs and queens of the region at the Regional House of Chiefs in Sunyani.

He later inspected the Chiraa-New Dormaa Phase Two road project and the Sunyani Airport Rehabilitation Project.

But, the aspiring Sunyani West Member of Parliament on Adom FM’s morning show, Dwaso Nsem, Thursday claimed the President commissioned speed ramps instead of roads.

She said an accident prone road in a town called Kortokrom has not been fixed but the government paid a contractor to construct speed ramps on it and President Akufo-Addo came to commission it.

This conduct by the government, she said, is enough evidence that the New Patriotic Party is only focused on winning the 2020 elections.

Her only respite, she said, is the second coming of former President John Mahama who did a lot of infrastructural projects in the Bono region.

She urged Ghanaians to vote massively for Mr Mahama in the 2020 elections to continue his good works.
