Tax Expert, Kwaku Kyei Nyamekye has lashed out at the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI) for fighting Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) over enforcement of tax stamp.

According to him, the move by AGI to condemn the seizure of goods and closure of some beverage manufacturing firms by the tax stamp enforcement team of the Ghana Revenue Authority shows that AGI is sabotaging GRA so they can invade tax.

The GRA’s taskforce on tax stamp policy, this week, began visiting the premises of beverage manufacturers to seize and close down some companies for failure to comply with the tax stamp policy.

But the AGI has condemned the seizure of products by the team, warning of over 5000 job cuts if the action is not halted.

Kwaku Kyei Nyamekye says the AGI has no excuse, saying the GRA has given a grace period to manufacturing companies to acquire the tax-stamp machines hence the AGI has no case.
