Former Medeama SC striker Jonathan Sowah has revealed that he was approached by Tanzanian authorities to switch nationality and represent the East African country.
The 26-year-old, who currently plays for Singida Black Stars in Tanzania, has had an impressive debut season, scoring 13 goals in as many appearances.
Speaking in an interview on Asempa FM’s Ultimate Sports Show, Sowah confirmed the approach but insisted that his loyalty lies with Ghana.
“Tanzania contacted me to naturalise for them, but I told them I haven’t done anything for the country,” he said.
“I am determined to make my country proud by playing for the Black Stars.”
Sowah made his debut for the Ghana national team in a friendly against Liberia in 2023. He joined Singida Black Stars from Libyan side Al-Nasr.
