Controversial Dancehall artiste Shatta Wale Monday evening performed at the Greater Accra regional rally of the National Democratic Congress.

In what can be interpreted as an endorsement for the ruling government, Shatta Wale performed his hit song Mahama paper and a couple of songs right after the president addressed the mammoth crowd at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Shatta Wale has on several occasions failed to endorse any of the two major political parties despite both of them using his songs on their campaign trail. Dressed in an all-white attire, the ‘Baby’ hitmaker used the occasion to also call for a peaceful election on Wednesday December 7. Thousands of Ghanaians Monday besieged the Accra Sports Stadium Monday for NDC’s final rally ahead of Wednesday’s election.

Addressing the crowd, the President, John Dramani Mahama said the opposition New Patriotic Party was preparing the grounds to reject the results of the election if they lose Wednesday’s polls.

According to him, the NPP was deliberately staging incidents and reporting false news to the international community to paint a negative image of the upcoming election.
