State Prosecutors have dropped charges leveled against six persons accused of assisting one Eric Kojo Duah to murder two policemen at Buduburam.

ASP Sylvester Asare on Thursday informed the court recent developments have left the State with no choice than to amend the charge sheet.

This led to the court discharging Isaac Amissah, Ibrahim Zakaria, Isaac Mensa, Oblitey Commey, Victor Yire and Fatawu Ahmed.

The deceased policemen were personnel of the Motor, Transport and Traffic Department detachment at Kasoa.

The new charge sheet filed in court slaps Mr Duah with murder and conspiracy to commit crime. Others identified as Theophilus, Mike Anim and Kay, State Prosecutors say, are at large.

The case has been adjourned to October 9.
