Music producer and sound engineer, David Kojo Kyei, commonly known as Kaywa has disclosed that some musicians look down on music producers in the country.
According to him, most of the musicians, after working with them, don’t pay for the producers’ work because they feel they’re hyping the producer by jumping on his beats.

Talking to Andy Dosty on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM, the ace music producer revealed that ‘a lot of musicians look down on producers. We need to check this. Most musicians don’t pay…’ he said.
Providing further clarifications on the matter, Kaywa said due to this he adopted a new business strategy to only work with those who pay upfront.

He said “…till lately I have decided that if you don’t pay, we don’t work; they come for a start and later they don’t pay. I will only work with people who are ready to do business.
Asked how much he charges per song, Kaywa said “I usually charge between GH₵ 3,000 to GH₵4,000 per song.”
