Ghanaian musician Yaw Siki has opened up about his early experiences with alcohol and drug use, revealing that he began drinking while in junior high school.

Speaking on Daybreak Hitz, he disclosed that his introduction to alcohol started at a young age, long before senior high school.

“I started drinking when I was in JHS,” he said.

He further explained that his curiosity about smoking weed developed later during his senior high school years, largely influenced by hip-hop culture.

According to him, as a strong fan of hip-hop, he was exposed to frequent references to weed in the music, which sparked his interest.

“Hip-hop made me curious about weed. The people I listened to always talked about it, so I wanted to try,” he noted.

Yaw Siki clarified that while his exposure to weed was influenced by hip-hop, his drinking habits were not connected to the genre.

He added that his experiences have shaped his current lifestyle and perspectives.
