Music producer and sound engineer David Kojo Kyei, commonly known as Kaywa says Nigerian musician and producer, Don Jazzy opened his eyes to make profit in the music industry.
According to him, as a renowned Ghanaian producer respected for his contribution to many hit songs in the country, he was contacted by the Marvin Records Boss to produce a song which eventually paid well.
Kaywa revealed on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM that, his craft on R2Bee’s ‘Kiss your hand’ song featuring Nigeria’s Wande Coal landed him the opportunity to visit Nigeria to work with Don Jazzy.

Recalling his encounter with the CEO of Mavin records, Kaywa said the first-class treatment that was given to him by Don Jazzy in Nigeria was off the hook.
Asked if he was paid well, Kaywa said “he made me feel like a king; I was even afraid at a point. He gave me the best hotels, provided everything I needed and paid me well. He was even thinking the money he was paying was too little so he gave it to Dr Sid to give to me…” he said to Andy Dosty on Daybreak Hitz.

According to Kaywa, “you can work so well or hard and you won’t get that kind of money; they opened [sic] my eyes in the business.’
Kaywa urged industry players to pay attention to the lucrative aspect of the music industry.
‘We don’t look at the business aspects of us and that makes it difficult to get investors. In Nigeria, there are a lot of investors…” he maintained.
