It has emerged that Ghanaian hiplife rapper, Reggie Rockstone, is the face behind the ‘waakye in jars’ causing a stir on social media.
This comes after photos of the ‘Waakye in a jar’ surfaced on Twitter and got a lot of Ghanaians talking, eventually resulting in the creation of the hashtag: #WaakyeLivesMatter.
The rapper, born Reginald Yaw Asante Osei and his wife, have been known for the operation of a ‘waakye’ joint under the brand name ‘RockzWaakye’ at Cantonments.

The rapper, who believes ‘waakye’ is his calling, has vowed to let the business go international despite the trolls and pullbacks.
Also speaking in an interview, he said the business has been the biggest so far with him breaking records, adding he serves as many as 300 packs of ‘waakye’ a day.
However, responding to the jars branding on twitter, he explained the package is only for hotels and export as well as anyone who may desire it.
