The Ghana Football Association (GFA) on Thursday, April 23, 2026, officially unveiled Carlos Queiroz as the new head coach of the Black Stars.
The Portuguese tactician, who was presented at a ceremony in Accra, stated that his main focus will be on delivering results rather than adopting a specific playing style.

“I am a winning coach. I don’t understand that thing of defend or attack,” Queiroz said during his first media engagement.
“When we don’t have the ball, we have to fight together, sacrifice, and suffer to recover it as fast as possible in order to create opportunities and score.”
Queiroz’s first test in charge of the senior national team will come on May 2, when Ghana takes on Wales in Cardiff.
The unveiling ceremony was attended by GFA President Kurt Okraku, Vice President Mark Addo, Black Stars assistant coach Desmond Offei, members of the technical team, and representatives of the supporters’ union.
