Deputy Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Jennifer Queen, has dismissed claims that the party intends to remove Alexander Afenyo-Markin as Minority Leader in Parliament.
Speaking on Accra-based UTV, she described the reports as untrue, stating that no such decision has been taken by the party.
“It is not true; there are no plans to remove Afenyo-Markin. He is still the Minority Leader,” she said.
According to her, suggestions that Afenyo-Markin could be removed due to his alleged association with Kennedy Agyapong during the NPP primaries are inaccurate.
She emphasized that party leadership has not initiated any process to that effect and that Afenyo-Markin continues to serve in his role.
Jennifer Queen further noted that the party held two meetings last week, both of which he attended in his capacity as Minority Leader.
She stressed that his participation in those meetings is evidence that he continues to enjoy the confidence of the party leadership.
