Ghana’s former Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Paul Tawiah Quaye, has passed away.
Mr. Quaye served as IGP from May 16, 2009, to February 5, 2013, becoming the 21st head of the Ghana Police Service since its establishment in 1924.
His tenure was marked by efforts to strengthen policing and improve operational efficiency within the Service.
In 2011, he was honoured by the West Africa Nobles Forum as the “Most Effective and Efficient IGP in West Africa,” in recognition of his leadership.
His death marks the passing of a notable figure in Ghana’s security landscape.
