The Trobu Constituency Youth Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Eric A. Afeme, popularly known as Agabus, has officially declared his intention to contest for the position of Deputy Regional Youth Organizer for the Greater Accra Region.

In a declaration of intent released to party members, Afeme described his decision as a continuation of a long-standing journey of service to the party.

He emphasized his commitment to advancing the interests of the NDC youth wing, highlighting over two decades of active involvement in party structures and grassroots mobilization.

Afeme, who currently serves as the Trobu Constituency Youth Organizer, stated that his experience has equipped him with the organizational and leadership capacity required to mobilize and strengthen the youth base across the region.

He noted that his roles within the party have sharpened both his “organizational and human acumen,” positioning him to effectively coordinate youth activities at a higher level.

Outlining his vision, Afeme pledged to focus on nurturing young talents, enhancing collaboration among youth organizers, and improving welfare systems for young party members.

He also stressed the need to deepen stakeholder engagement to sustain the vibrancy and unity of the party in Greater Accra.

“I am taking up this position with the greatest responsibility, honour, and commitment,” he stated, while calling on party faithful to support his bid.

His declaration comes at a time when internal mobilization within the NDC youth wing is intensifying ahead of expected regional reorganization processes.

The youth wing remains a critical arm of the party, led nationally by figures such as George Opare-Addo, who also serves as Ghana’s Minister for Youth Development and Empowerment.

Afeme concluded his message with an appeal for unity and collective effort, urging members to work together to protect and build on the gains of the party.

His candidacy is expected to add to the growing contest for key youth leadership positions within the Greater Accra Region.
