Police at Berekum in the Bono region have arrested one Matthew Osika for allegedly stealing musical instruments belonging to the Amankowaa Methodist church in the Berekum West district.

According to one Paul Asante Bonah, a ministerial student of the church, the suspect was arrested after a tip-off about the missing instruments.

“We had information that Osika had the instruments and when the police went to his house for an inspection, they were found in his room,” he said in an interview with Adom News.

The suspect, reacting to the allegations, said he bought the instruments from individuals for a church business but did not conduct any investigation to ascertain the real ownership.

The police have begun investigations into the matter.

The stolen instruments included keyboards, guitar, microphones, speakers, combos and fans among others.
