The Ghana Police Hospital has announced a temporary shutdown of several critical departments to allow for a scheduled fumigation and maintenance exercise aimed at improving safety and hygiene.

In a statement signed by the Public Affairs Officer, Chief Inspector Faustina Afia Nnekpeku, dated April 28, 2026, and addressed to all media houses, management of the hospital said the exercise will take place from Friday, May 1 to Sunday, May 3, 2026.

Affected units include the Eye Clinic, Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Specialist Consulting Rooms, Maternity and Labour Ward, Female Ward, Male Ward, and the Theatre.

As part of preparations for the exercise, the hospital indicated that there will be no new admissions to the listed departments from April 30, 2026, to help decongest the units ahead of the fumigation.

Management is therefore appealing to the general public and clients to take note of the temporary disruption and seek alternative healthcare facilities during the period.
