The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Ejisu in the Ashanti Region, Jerryne Asante, has alleged an attack by some executives of the National Democratic Congress (National Democratic Congress).
In an interview on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem, Madam Asante identified her alleged attackers as the Ashanti Regional NDC Women’s Organiser, Gloria Huze, the Ejisu Constituency Chairman, the Organiser, and the Youth Organiser.
The MCE claimed the four individuals attacked her unprovoked on Monday, April 27, 2026, over an alleged warehouse break-in involving party executives.
“These constituency executives were the same people who led the youth to lock down the NHIA office. They all wanted the MCE position and didn’t get it, so they have vowed to frustrate me. They have leased out some lands to people and were even summoned to the palace. Their argument was that the NPP did it while in power and they will also do it,” she claimed.
Madam Asante, while condemning the incident, cautioned against division in the municipality and within the party, stating that this is not the first time an MCE’s efforts have been frustrated.
“It is important for us to reach a consensus with the chiefs because they are the custodians of the and even if they need a parcel of land for something, they have to involve me to ensure calm and order at all levels.
“They always create confusion and cause apathy among party members. They fight every MCE appointed in the area but I have decided not to pay attention to anything they are doing to ensure peace,” she added.
