A private legal practitioner has said that charges against National Democratic Congress (NDC) Chairman, Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo could have been avoided.

Mr Gary Nimako Marfo said if he were him [Ofosu-Ampofo], he would just admit his fault, apologise and move on.

“When this issue started, my position has been consistent. If I were chairman, I would just apologise to Ghanaians to forgive me so we just move on because this issue has prolonged for far too long. Court issues are not easy and so apologising and admitting will just save him all the hustle,” he told Accra based Okay FM, monitored by Adomonline.com.

Mr Marfo’s comment follows a request by Mr Ofosu-Ampofo to the High Court to strike out an audio recording presented as evidence of his alleged crime.
