Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong has said that Africans, especially Ghanaians are unable to realise their dreams because they have failed to disentangle themselves from foreign influence.
He says some Africans worship those in Western countries as gods to the extent that no amount of persuasion can move them from their preconceived positions.
“Africans and for that matter Ghanaians have failed to live up to their expectations up till now because we have sold ourselves to the Whites. They may even deny something they see with their own eyes,” he said.
Mr Kennedy Agyapong was speaking on Adom TV’s Morning Show “Badwam” Tuesday.
The outspoken MP says there is too much indiscipline in all spheres of life of the African especially the Ghanaian, a situation he says thwarts nation building and development.
According to him, attitudinal change is needed to forestall some sanity in developing countries.
“The Late reggae legend, Bob Marley said that he had no fear for atomic energy because that cannot stop the time, but our attitude can; and that there is the need to emancipate ourselves from mental slavery. I agree with him,” he said.
That notwithstanding, Mr Kennedy Agyapong urged Ghanaians to build on the legacy bestowed on them by forefathers to build a better Ghana for the future.
