The Greater Accra Regional Minister, Joseph Nii Laryea Afotey Agbo says the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) is to blame for its own defeat in the just ended general elections.

According to him, some disgruntled members paid supporters to vote skirt and blouse against many of the parliamentary candidates across the country.

Afotey Agbo made this revelation in an interview with Afia Pokua on Burning Issues Wednesday.

His comment comes in wake of the accusation and counter-accusation of who to take the blame for the NDC’s abysmal performance in the December 7 polls.

Aside from President Mahama getting 44 percent of the total votes cast, majority of NDC MPs lost their seats to the NPP.

While grassroot supporters are blaming the national leadership for the defeat, some of the regional executives are also blaming the party founder, former President Jerry Rawlings of giving missiles to the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) to defeat them.

But the Greater Accra Regional Minister maintained that, everyone in the NDC is to blame for the shameful loss to the NPP.

He explained that, whiles members of the NPP will campaigning vigorously in every nook and cranny, NDC members were paying monies to pay to vote skirt and blouse.

“NPP members we so anxious, eager going from house to house to marshal people to come out and vote for their parliamentary candidates, NDC members were going round sharing monies to people to vote skirt and blouse so what do you expect?” he quizzed.

Nii Laryea Afotey Agbo stressed that such internal issues which led to their defeat must be addressed rather than “blaming people who don’t deserved to be blamed”.
