Minority Members of Parliament are asking the Akufo-Addo led government to hand over the governance of the country to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) if it is not ready to govern.
The calls by the NDC MPs follow the failure of five (5) ministers to appear before the House today to answer questions related to their respective ministries.
The absence of the Ministers for Railways Development, Joe Ghartey, Labor and Employment, Ignatius Baffour Awuah, works and Housing, Samuel Atta Akyea, Lands and Natural Resources, John Peter Amewu and Regional Reorganization and Development, Dan Botwe caused an abrupt end of proceedings today.
Second Deputy Majority Chief Whip, Moses Anim, had explained that all the five ministers had written to inform the house of their unavailability.
However, Deputy Minority Chief Whip, Ahmed Ibrahim, took government to task and said ministers must take the work of parliament seriously.
Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Kingsford Alban Sumana Bagbin cautioned the ministers over the practice and directed the Business Committee to reschedule the questions for the minister to answer later.
But in a response, Majority Leader and Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu accused the minority of playing mischief.
According to him, leadership of Parliament was attending the funeral of the late Asantehemaa today, hence the absence of the ministers.
