The Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) in a press release, has responded to recent publications and news items on the acquisition of residential properties in Takoradi.

Background

Joy FM, who broke the news, indicated that the Chief Executive of GNPC, Dr. K.K. Sarpong last year ordered an urgent transfer of $7.5 million to a company he once worked for.

According the media outfit, documents available to them, indicates the amount was for a 6-block residential apartment purchased from Global Haulage for which Dr. Sarpong once acted as Chief Executive.

The GNPC CEO directed the Chief Finance Officer to make a payment of $7.5 million to Global Haulage Company Limited without delay, as stated by the intercepted memo dated 29th December, 2017, by Joy Fm.

But in a press release today, GNPC has rubbished all the news items and publications making rounds in the media landscape, on the said matter.
