Ghana Football Association (GFA) presidential aspirant, George Afriyie, has conceded defeat in the GFA elections held at the College of Physicians and Surgeons,

According to Mr Afriyie, though he had the opportunity to go for another third round after failing to pull up in the second run, he is a unifier and therefore his decision is in the interest of football in Ghana.

“Like I have always been preaching, football is one big family. There are no losers and winners. Like I said in the beginning of this campaign, we have the opportunity to go another third round but I am a unifier and a team player and so in the interest of football, I concede defeat and congratulate my brother Kurt,” he said.

At the first round, Kurt Okraku led with 44 votes with former Vice President of the GFA George Afriyie polling 40 votes.
