Mr Banaku demanded that the government, as a matter of urgency, distributes the ambulances to help save lives

The Bureau of Public Safety (BPS) has commended the National Ambulance Service (NAS) on its call for the postponement of the commissioning and subsequent distribution of ambulances initially scheduled for Monday January 6, 2020.

The BPS made the commendation via a statement it released on Monday, saying the batch of service vehicles in reference were the best by far to be imported into the country hence there was the need for necessary steps to ensure that citizens derived the best of use from them.

The statement which was signed by the Executive Director of BPS, Nana Yaw Akwada, said: The National Ambulance Service and it’s Executive Director must be commended for intervening, albeit late in such a “hot political potato throw about” and seeking what is professionally acceptable and best.

It has also called on the NAS to further dig deeper into issues of everyday running cost for fuel and maintenance.

The statement finally urged the NAS to further seek utmost clarity and preparedness of recipient constituencies on where the service vehicles would be stationed to ensure efficient deployment upon distribution.
